That's the best part of all of this for me.
Mrs Warner's history was a non story in SA, the team might have known about it, but if more five other people in the country knew I'd be surprised.
Once Davey decided to use that as his defence the media had free reign to publicise her history. So well done to the little shit gibbon for defending her honour by publicizing it in a country she currently finds herself in.
And don't take my previous comment to mean I condone people on the street making her visit anything but pleasant, but I'll bet that the TV cameras will focus a bit on her in the upcoming test.

Two thoughts.
Sledging about family members is shitty and lacking any kind of wit. They aren't there to defend themselves, or hand out a sharp knee to the balls. I mean fuck, if you have a butt ugly boofhead like Warner, and the best you can do is talk shit about his wife, you'd have to be pretty thick yourself.
Warner was foolish to make it about defending her 'honour'. This is not the 50s. Who fucking cares if she had fun as a single. It's not like cricketers walk around wearing chastity belts before they get married (or after they get married...) so now all he's done is made her past a THING. -

the difference today is things like stump mikes pick up comments and, more importantly, media are prepared (keen) to report incidents whereas previously anything unsavoury was ignored.
The 1970's Aussies weren't called the ugly Australians simply for the taches.
My ex father-in-law played first class cricket (briefly) in England before the war and for the Army during it so played against the Comptons etc and it doesn't sound a lot different to today TBH.

I am going to try and make a point that is completely beyond my language skills.
Warner is full of shit and he knows it.
So, let's assume De Kock said "hey mate your wife is a slag". Nobody has actually quoted what was said, but the rumours/conjecture suggests it it's something close.
How should you react when someone calls your wife a slag? Well that depends...
Is he attacking the person I am married to or my wife? And yes there is a difference.
A mate that calls your wife a slag is insulting her. When you lash out you are protecting her honour (that might be wrong or right in its own right).
When a guy you barely know says you are married to a slag, he is insulting you. When you explode you are defending your own honour.
So which one happened here? I doubt De Kock knows or cares to know Candice Warner. He, allegedly, said something that touched a nerve with the little shit gibbon. I am sure Warner thinks he was being chivalrous, I think he was being a dick who can dish it out, but doesn't like to get it back. Also think deep down he and his team mates know that he was protecting his own little shit gibbon ego, not the honour of his partner.
