@jk yea I always remember talking to a dude who was fishing off the rocks for Kingi, and he hooked into a small stripey, he reckons watching the km or so of line go off his reel was the most exhilarating 10 mins of his life.

He's obviously never had a decent root in his life.

I had a marlin (think black) pass in between the rock and I was standing on and my livebait once not far from cape brett! Closest I've come.

Also got spooled by something up the top of coromandel one year which basically dived down a few metres from the surface and headed for great barrier. Took 350m of 24kg line pretty quickly. Couldnt even even slow is down!

@mn5 TBF, it was a purely fishing conversation (when I was working in a Sports shop) so easy to use a bit of hyperbole when in that moment...

Returning to the important subject of bacon. I arrived in the office at 6:15 as usual and discovered the Ops crew were having a cooked breakfast. Now the office area reeks of fried bacon. I am not happy. Where's the bosses bacon huh - huh?

My bacon alarm just went off. Minor semantic issue there. Technically it couldn't "reek" of bacon because it's bacon and impossible to smell bad.

Oh, and fire the lot of them. Bastards, that is just cruel.

@Snowy I did consider the inappropriateness of the word reek but decided to go for it as when the office smells of fried bacon but you cannot eat any it is an offensive smell.

As for your second point - seriously considered it, but then I would have to do some work.

@dogmeat I actually tried to think of a suitable word for the aroma of fried bacon. Nothing really made the grade.

Sorry to interrupt the bacon thread.

I wonder how much $$$ the wonderful Mrs Lomu asked for when she heard they were going to name a street after Jonah?

South Auckland street to be named after All Black legend Jonah Lomu

South Auckland street to be named after All Black legend Jonah Lomu

A new road due to open will honour one of the world's greatest rugby stars - Jonah Lomu - just a few metres from where he once played as a schoolboy. Jonah

"Speaking to the Herald, Nadene Lomu said it was an honour to have her husband acknowledged in such a way, but admitted he may have been somewhat embarrassed about it."

I think he would be far more embarrassed by the way you've carried on, you mercenary trashbag.

@taniwharugby I hate in equal measures FSOG for its fucked up portrayal of BDSM and that article for bedroom shaming. But also...WTF? you don't just choke someone out of the blue.
