Actually got it to just over 725KIAS, Mach 1.9 when the burner blew out. Then it was home time as most of the fuel was gone ~700 kg per minute will do that, lol. It was around 2000kph groundspeed
I have always found it funny how petrolheads spend so much in the search for speed when they could learn to fly, invest their money in planes and really learn some speed.
Haven't seen a car yet with a 54 litre 18 cylinder engine doing 750kph -
