    Nasty.

Reality of her lifting with the women is that she was in her own competition anyway - her first lift was 7kg more than the best lift of the next best competitor.

How do you deal with all this if you're a sports administrator?

I reckon you allow transgender athletes and blade-runners etc to compete with the other athletes, but you have extra medals. e.g. If Laurel wins overall then she gets a gold, but so does the first natural born woman. If she comes second she gets a silver, but so does the person who comes third. If she comes fourth she gets nothing - like everyone else.

    Participation medal. Nice

Tense times at the squash. Joelle King won the first two sets, then lost the third and is down in the fourth.

@chris-b Yeah, unfortunately Joelle has let a few opportunities slip through her fingers and let Perry back in the game big time.

I don't think Laurel should be able to compete against biological women. It puts her in a difficult situation because who can she compete against? Medals for Laurel and medals for everyone would be a very PC way to go

I'm hanging out for the shot put final. Would be cool if Tom broke his own record. He has thrown further than 22.45 this year.

@canefan Probably not, but that's seemingly what we're stuck with. Oscar Pistorius was heading in a similar direction.

That's why I think my solution is a reasonable compromise. She gets to compete as a woman, but doesn't deprive someone else of their deserved reward.

              Won't work in contact sports.

Edit: And they give away so many medals in swimming it's not like a few more are going to make much difference. 🙂

What did the English girl think had happened a couple of points from the end when she caught the ball?

                          Critical error!

So thrilled for Joelle, that was an absolute epic final. Honestly, I think the crowd really wanted her to win too. The English girl was mega talented but gees she needs to check her temper.

                            Men's final up now.

Just made a fuck up and tried to bluff her way to winning the let.

She reminded me of one or two of the teenagers who can’t control their temper at the local club when shit doesn’t go their way.

Gah. Kiwi javelin thrower Robinson threw a World Record and was in gold, only to be pipped by the Welsh chick and a new world record on her final throw.

On the subject of Hubbard I just watched the 1500m heat with Caster Semenya.

                                    Just doesn't look right.

I know it's a different situation. But it's really not fair.

The Australians have got 51 fucking medals for swimming.

Seriously...there needs to be an investigation.

Where's Geoff Toovey when you need him? 🙂

The swimming is an outlier. There should be two medal tables, one with and one without swimming. Just completely distorts things.
