    kids TV show

While the plot moves like a kids show, the tone is, though mixed, pretty inappropriate for kids. Far too (wannabe) BSG.

It was nice of the family to bring their slave though.

Slave? Yeah the tone is all over the place, definitely more for 11+

Well they do inexplicably have a 23yo black woman living with them, whom they assume will take care of everything.

Well, I am assuming the "23yo black woman" you are referring to is Judy Robinson, the eldest of the Robinson children and is 18 according to Ep 1. Continually gets referred to as one of their kids.

I have been assuming that they will explain the racial differences as the story line progresses and maybe she is adopted or perhaps a martial infidelity might explain it given the couples clear issues.

I for one am enjoying it so far, 4 eps down. Some excellent scenery and effects and yes, the characters are a little wooden but again, hopefully these things will improve.

Yeah she's eighteen and definitely one of the kids. I have no idea why they have not explained the racial difference. I just assumed that they took her in because of the mentioned "troubles", which considering they had to build perimeter fences around their homes to keep people out sounded pretty bad.

I kind of like they aren't filling in all the blanks. It's certainly watchable, and shows can take a season to find their feet, I'm pretty forgiving as Tim as noted and mocked me for ๐Ÿ™‚

She's from the mothers previous marriage.

FYI - I don't watch the show, just looked it up on Wiki to see what it was about after reading you lot discussing it.

gave it a burl, wow, its really well done. Up to ep 3 now, hoping it doesnt go all Marvel comics on me. Very addictive, definitely passes the "what happens next?" test.

Just goes to show how important good characters are. Also pommy hacker chick is riduliculously hot.

@rocky-rockbottom Don't worry, you'll get to spend plenty of time with the world's most annoying child actor in the 2nd season.

Isn't he so petulant that he ends up dooming humanity and destroying NYC, or something, in an act of spite?

    Yup, confirmed in Ep. 5.

She is treating Don West and she says she is one of the Robinson's and Don gives her a "WTF" look.

She explains it away by saying she was born before the father came on the scene.

I think it's a pretty good way to deal with such a topic and just kinda shrug it off with a passing comment and leave it at that.

    Interesting spoiler in Ep. 5
But won't reveal it until I remember how to do the "Spoiler" thingy.

Deep State, a spy series with Mark Strong, has started well.

Marcella S2 was pretty good, although quite an....interesting...ending.

Bosch is frikkin is good as ever, halfway through.

As above, Deep State is really good so far.

Hap & Leonard S3 was neat.

Oh also, Before we Die has been really good.

Compelling thriller from Sweden in which police detective Hanna Svensson steps in to handle a mysterious informant in a criminal organisation when her colleague and lover Sven goes missing

Back watching Sneaky Pete S1 again so can watch S2 with the missus, still really good second time around.

Yeah, slightly understated but with some moments of brutality to liven it up. Mark Strong showing that he can be a good actor despite appearing in some shitty stuff, just dialling in the performance.

@catogrande interesting, I can't really think of anything off the top of my head that's so bad, I've always thought he's decent. Doesn't stray too far as a character though...
