Watched opener of Defiance and it's a kind of Deep Space Nine/Star Wars Canteena/Alien Nation western set here on Earth sometime in the future.

It's not that bad, might get better, but essentially it is sci-fi Deadwood without the swearing and Ian McShane.

I think I watch Ep2, now that you've mentioned it. -
Finished up S4 of Justified, I liked it, just love Raylan and Boyds characters, and more so when they interact with one another, in that lawman/criminal -love/hate way, although felt they tidied things up a bit quick after the main storyline was all but done in ep 12.

Will have a look at Hemlock Grove and Defiance, sound like my cup of tea (which is similar in taste to BSG's)

Also anyone checked out the Zombieland series? Dont bother.... -

Been doing net research and it looks like these shows may be worth a gawk at

Rectify - "An intense and moving and wonderfully languid series. Ray McKinnon has created a show about a man coming off Death Row after 19 years and his re-entry into small town society is like emerging into a strange dream world". (Ray McKinnon played Lincoln Potter in SOA

Orphan Black - "A streetwise hustler witnesses the suicide of a girl who looks just like her and falls headlong into a deadly mystery." - this is a mystery series about clones

Anyone seen any of these?
I have the first few episodes of both of these (and Da Vinci's Demons) taped, just haven't had time to watch them yet. -

The Americans is worth checking out.
Love it. I am glad I didn't let Felicity scare me away. The two leads and their relationship has gotten quite complex as the season progressed. -

Anyone watch Southland? Seems to be getting good reviews, was wondering if it's worth the effort.
Love it too -

It's been good. Was on TV3 but bunted to late night after a few episodes.

For BSGs benefit it included both guns and boobs. -
The next new Fx show (the network that shows SOA, The Americans, Justified etc) is The Bridge, based on the Danish show of the same name.
Anyone else watch Harry last night? I thought it was bloody good, loved the scenes with Oscar Kightly and Sam Neill, my apprentice watched with a couple of mates who translated the Samoan in it.
Couldn't disagree more. Cringe inducing. Stereotype piled onto cliche liberally garnished with hackneyed comment served on a bed of totally predictable plot. Will give it one more week but only because its kiwi. 4/10 is generous iMO. -

Really? I didn't see those two scumbags leaving their mate coming, also the kid killing people who had already given him the money was pretty out there too. I think we can both agree it could have done with more female nudity though. -
She was so bored she was left with no alternative but to end her misery <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Seriously tho. Copper suffers personal loss left to raise child on own cue exploration of tensions between being a good dad as kid evidences signs of depression versus duty as a cop - compounded by being able to influence results in professional life as personal circumstances spin out of control.

Its embarrassingly cliched. Cop show 101
Got round to watching the first 3 of these and you are right. It's a good ole Western pretending not to be one. The Alien invasion aftermath has created the badlands frontier town run by a Mayor and with a Sheriff (only they call him 'Lawkeeper'). The guns are better than the old six shooters and shotties. The Indians are better because there's more of them and they come in different brands. Needs hotter women though and more tits.
It's an OK watch and, IMO, better than the likes of Revolution. Not sure if that's the program itself or because Grant Bowler is easy to watch for kiwis. He's actually quite good in it and suits the part. -
Revolution has grown on me, and I like the explanation for the power outage.
