    Deep State, a spy series with Mark Strong, has started well.

    Yeah, slightly understated but with some moments of brutality to liven it up. Mark Strong showing that he can be a good actor despite appearing in some shitty stuff, just dialling in the performance.

    He was excellent in the US version of Low Winter Sun.

    Hoping that Deep State scales those heights

    Finished Lost in Space, and it was good. Left me wanting more, and the characters started getting fleshed out a bit more.

    If I was them I’d tone down the scary bits more to a Doctor Who level so kids could watch this. As it is, there are a couple of too intense for kids parts. But weirdly the rest is pretty lighthearted.

    I enjoyed the finale a lot, even though it was fairly predictable.

    Time for a Buck Rogers camp as fuck reboot.

    @kirwan Four literal cliff-hangers per episode just weren't enough for me.

    Not a series, but a one off Doco I watched on Animal Planet.

    About a pride of lions that took over a huge territory with size and brutality....I like watching these kinds of things, but man this was tough to watch (they didnt show all they could have and also blurred out a couple of bits) nature is so brutal and ruthless.

    Was reminded of a Swedish series tonight that I watched a while ago, don't think I mentioned it here. Anyway well worth a watch is Nobel.

    In NOBEL, two stories carefully intertwine as a returning soldier and family man becomes a pawn in a political international game. As the stakes grow higher he is forced to discover just how far one should go in the name of peace.

    And Stubbs?

    It's hard to get your head around the different timelines.

    Last time we saw Stubbs he was jumped by the ghost nation. Might show later on how he survived not sure.
    How did all the hosts end up floating in the lake at the end (including Teddy)

    re westworld season 2 ep 1

    :::

    so the drones injecting human DNA into hosts gives them a measure (?) of "soul"? this coupled with Ford hitting some sort of sentience switch is why theyre able to override their settings and kick arse?

    ps turns out the "Abernathy" that Delos want is Doloroes Dad. fucked if I know what is so special about him

    ps after the slightly slow burn of season 1, ep 1 was fuckign awesome. The two chicks Mauve and Delores on the fucking rampaaage. Can see a season 4 with them out in the real world, hunting down the Delos head honchos with their completely lifelike zombie army in tow

    :::

    Last season charloltte (Delos) used Abernathy to input all the IP and information about the park. Think of him as a giant waking flash drive. He was their insurance policy when they were planning on removing Ford ( before he did that himself)

    :::

    :::

    Abernathy is "the package", as per Charlotte's communcation with Delos.

    :::

    There are plenty of videos on YT analysing Ep1, and speculating on the different storylines and character arcs.
