I may check that out.

Looking for something else to get into at the moment after eating OB so fast (and with GoT finishing). Defiance is filling a pap gap left by Person of Interest.
I am tempted to start on The Killing 3 but the prospect of endless moody shots in the pissing down rain has me holding back.

Any other suggestions?
Continuum? I liked the first season well enough, and have about 6 eps of the 2nd saved up.

Burn Notice new season starts tonight, and a new series premieres after it called Graceland. My brother has been telling me I should watch Longmire. Haven't checked it out yet.

What about old shows you missed? Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, Justified, The Shield, Southland, Dexter, Homeland, BSG etc etc etc? Watched them all?

I just started watching Strike Back. Am on episode 3 of the 2nd series. -
I'm watching Continuum, but have feeling that the story is being far too dragged out for no good reason. I'll still watch but starting to lose interest.

That Longmire looks worth a go, thanks for that, I hadn't heard of it.

I'll wait and see what Graceland throws up. Looks to be a 'formuls' show from what I've read.

There are some oldies I need to go back to. Deadwood is one in particular that I missed. -

From the same channel that does Burn Notice, Royal Pains, White Collar, Covert Affairs, and Suits. So probably similar formula, light and nothing too deep. Suits the outlier of the group.

There really is sweet fuck all on TV in the summer. You can see a grid of shows and premiere dates here.
I like the USA model so I'm happy, it's good to just switch of the brain sometimes. Apparently Graceland is supposed to be more serialised from the start (unlike Burn Notice and White Collar which became serialised as it went on).

I still need to get through Breaking Bad (still can't get passed the first season to the great ones that are supposed to follow), Strikeback (am in the middle of series 2 and finding it a bit meh), and all of Deadwood (which I'm looking forward to, I've watched the first ep years back and enjoyed it) and have Top of the Lake and Hatfields and McCoys that I'm looking forward to. So I'm set for the "winter".

Just finished watching Sleeper Cell and quite enjoyed it.

Crucial: Just rewatch The Wire if you can't find anything else, at least you wont be disappointed.
Rusty: Cheers for that site, is bookmarked now. -
Crucial, you might want to check out the new BBC show The Fall. Gillian Anderson plays a detective in pursuit of a serial killer.

If you want something really good but a bit different, then I highly recommend the Venture Bros.
Have The Fall on the DVR, just need to find the time to watch. I have heard good things -
Watched 2 eps of Orphan Black, and looking like a good series.

I think McShane in Deadwood is bloody awesome, as is the deadpan Bullock, although when you look at OLyphant in his other roles, he doesnt stray too far from that character.

Finale of GOT to come, and the start of Falling Skies <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> (guilty pleasure) -
French supernatural thriller, Les Revenants (Rebound), started on Channel 4 last night.

A smash hit in France last year - and sure to be a US remake soon - it's about a group of schoolchildren who start to reappear after dying in a coach accident.

I don't want to give too much away, but it's beautifully paced and acted with some intriguing plot developments, not least the differing reactions of the townspeople to the reappearance of their loved ones. I hope the rest of the series is as good as Ep1. -
I've thought that both of the first two series should have ended on their penultimate episodes and haven't thought much of the final (S1 final episode especially just seemed to meander) - hopefully this will be a good one.

The pattern seems to be that the big things happen in the penultimate ep then the final sets up the next season.
Last night was all about repositioning the pieces on the board.
-

Yeah, TBF, I'm used to it now, but still not sure it works having a (relatively) meh episode after a cracking one.
I reckon it would have been awesome if the first series had ended on Ned getting his head chopped off.

This one seemed to set up some interesting stuff, and finally returned Arya to a worthwhile character again. Not sure if I was loving Danearys the Messiah bit, but what the hell, any scene with her has its merits.

One thing I think this show does well is to have most of the characters float in the grey, and can make annoying and unsympathetic characters likeable and vice versa (Jamie for example, and Sansa is less annoying now her family are getting killed left, right and centre.

What I didn't really get was Bolton (I think that's his name, the north guy who turned on the Robb for Frey) saying how Robb never took his advice like somehow things would have been better with it ... Robb was winning all the battles. Also, were we supposed to know that the nutter torturing Theon was his son? I think these were scenes where knowing the books would have helped.
-
Watched finale of GOT, a bit tame IMO, reckon they could have let last weeks episode be the finale.

Reckon to add a bit of drama they should have finished with the scene of
Jon riding away with arrows in his back, given Rob was killed last week, to see that with Jon this week...
spoiler is series related, not book

Funy clip, contains spoilers for ep 9 of GOT
Anyone know if Martin is writing Book 6 at present? Will be interesting to see if the show lasts that long with book 4 introducing yet more characters and focussing less on the main ones.

Also watched the final ep of Revolution, this series has been a bit up and down, started ok, had a quiet patch but reckon it picked up the last 6 or so. -

I'm with you Luigi. I thought the first episode was a very good, a bit creepy and very clever in parts. I hope the rest lives up to it. -

Mrs Luigi has been watching this and wittering on incessantly about how good it is. So I Sky+'d it and watched it last night/this morning.

Very, very good. Gillian Andersen does a great line in latterday Prime Suspect/Jane Tennyson as the ice cool DI bought in to review a Belfast rape & murder enquiry of a local politician's daughter-in-law. There's also a nice sub-plot about sectarian-fuelled gangsters and corruption. But it's the main person-of-interest, which sold me because it's not a run-of-the-mill whodunnit (you know exactly who the killer is) but whether he will get away with it or not.

Worth watching. -
Enjoying S2 of Grimm, I like how the main storyline is a big part of each episode.

Also spotted a brother of some ferners in an episode too, although I do hope he was trying to make his SA accent poor...<img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Only on ep 3 of Orphan Black, but am liking it. -
Started Breaking Bad. So far first 3 episodes.

Is it a comedy or what? It kind of goes from being very serious to being farcical.

Will persist till the end of the first season to see where its going.
Technically its a drama, but its weirdly funny. Its basically Fargo, set in the desert. Bit like the way the Pine Barrens episode of the Sopranos was almost an out & out comedy episode. Or anything involving Paulie or Chris for that matter.

One of those shows that just gets better as the characters develop. And then it gets darker & darker. Christ it gets dark... -
Finished S2 of Grimm, really enjoyed it, I think S2 was much better than S1, which was more episode by episode whereas S2 was more a longer story with little stories mixed in and while the finale was a little predictable, it is set up nicely for S3.
