Oh good, its very important to define his sexuality...pansexual. Good to know ahead of time that the SJW brigade have their hands all over this one too.
Just let star wars die already please.
Ffs. Lando pansexual, that new droid being concerned about "droid rights". Why can't these SJW fuckwits leave anything alone? They ruin farking everything.
Isn't ESB your favourite SW film? That was Laurence Kasdan making that comment. He wrote Lando's character in the first place.
BTW read the article, the words were put into his mouth.Trust you to defend it. And no, the comments were from his son Jonathan. Nice try though.
My bad, I read that as being from Laurence.
The words were put in his mouth though, so hardly as if he volunteered a position. People will often tell interviewers what they want to hear.
James Brown famously told his auto biographer that his father was indian/white and his mother Asian because it sparked interest. This was duly put in print in the opening sentences in the resulting book about the man who would 'say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud'Boulderdash. He wasn't forced to say anything. Why do you always white knight these fuckers?
Probably for the same reason you call them fuckers and SJW fuckwits
No probably not. In fact definitely not.
You were seriously triggered weren't you? Why?
Triggered? I'm not he one doing name calling.
It's actually the opposite. I see no issue with what was said. It doesn't matter to me one bit if someone decides to label Lando's sexuality. It quite obviously matters to you.
If you weren't triggered then why even respond?
What I care about is these guys making the best and most entertaining films possible. What I don't appreciate is them bringing their bullshit politics into it. And btw I couldn't give a shit if it was politics I supported. This is Star Wars ffs not Fox News or CNN. It shouldn't be used as a platform for "promoting social change" or social justice activism. I know you have a kneejerk urge to always defend your side, but surely even you cant be happy about the way this is headed.

I think I already admitted I got it wrong, didn't I? I only reacted because I got the originator of the comment wrong and therefore made what I thought was a relevant post.
The way what is heading? Is it such a big deal? Certainly isn't something that makes me shout names at people.
I still enjoy watching the movies and, if you also dip deeper into the world that surrounds SW, whether recent canon or not, it has often reflected the trend of social thought in this galaxy not so far away.
If you would rather the SW universe existed solely in a galaxy stuck in 1977 then fine. Get out your VHS. -

It matters because identity politics is a cancer, and is going to cause significant problems.
I love Star Wars and don’t want that sort of shitty politics in what’s supposed to be a fun b-movie style romp.
In reality SW was elevated far above that a long long time ago. People take the films so seriously these days

So I'm sure you'd be totally cool with people who share the views of say Israel Folau injecting these views into movies like SW? Yes, I'm sure you would continue to enjoy them just as much. You are such a hypocrite.
SW is science fiction not Gender Studies 101. Arguing that it should be free from identity politics does not mean one is stuck in some kind of time warp. But sure, if you really loved your Holdos, Roses, activist droids and Pansexual Lando (which I don't believe you do no matter how much you love to virtue signal) then there's clearly alot more where that came from while the current SJW tossers ruin the show.

One would have thought a strong female character and an extremely effeminate droid would have pandered to their needs even back in 1977. Obviously not.

Social issues were always part of Star Trek, the original show tackled racism notably.
Star Wars was designed to teach basic right/wrong to 12 year olds (according to Lucas) and be a fun Flash Gordon like serial.
It sucks the fun out when far-left politics gets inserted.

@rancid-schnitzel Star Wars is for kids and man-children. Trek is for semi-ironic appreciation by adults.

Serious question. Do proper Star Trek
losersfans even acknowledge the new films or the latest TV show? I think I recall you being rather pissed off the new Kahn. -
@rancid-schnitzel Mostly we pretend they don't exist. They have little in common with the old Trek besides the name. They certainly don't offer interesting ideas, or a future world that you'd want to live in.

Star Trek came out when those were important issues. Seems incredible now that the first interracial kiss was actually a big deal. What I liked, in addition to the multiracial crew, is the fact they also had a Russian. That must have caused a stir back then.
As much as these idiots might argue otherwise, retroactively making Lando pansexual isn't anywhere same thing. It's just a pathetic attempt to inject his own SJW politics into a franchise that was never about this crap. As you said it's a glorified B-film. Buck Rogers on steroids.

Not sure about that. It's not like I'm demanding they include a transexual interspecies alien so the minority have something to relate to.
I just called out Star Wars for being shit. Cos it is.
