On that note - had nothing to watch the other week and had been talking to someone about sons so asked the missus if she wanted to watch the first episode. Who knew! Sons seems to have massive chick appeal, she loves it more than I do. Have covered four and a half seasons in only about three weeks.

Have enjoyed rewatching too, seems I'd forgotten a lot that went on! -
anyone seen 'Top of the Lake', forgive me if its been discussed already, couldn't see it.
Recorded the first two episodes and watched the first last night. Incredible cast, stunning scenery, slightly mental story line. Enjoying it so far. -

started the new series of Falling Skies, and is going along pretty well.

I see they have put out a trailed for the new series of Walking Dead too, looks good!

Bit of a lean patch at present (not helped by not having the Internet at home) but gonna be an influx of good viewing coming up in the next few months; Breaking Bad, Dexter, Walking Dead, Sons, Homeland, Person of Interest, am sure there are some others I have missed... -
Been watching 'Do No Harm' and yes.. Under the dome is poor.. But nothin else to watch <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Finished this series last night, one of those ones that just bubbles under without really getting going, but still grips you!

the funny thing about the acting (which was great) is there were a number of faces from TV adverts in NZ as well!

But yeah the subject matter was a bit disturbing. -

Anyone else given "Orange is the new Black" a go? I am about halfway through, so far, pretty good. Netflix is two for two along with House of Cards.

-

Liked "Top of the Lake" although it was a bit slow at times. Wife said if it wasn't New Zealand i wouldn't have sat through it.

"Orange is the new black" is by the same crowd who did Weeds, Both I liked (the former features Laura prepon from the 70's show in a slightly different role).

Also watched Mistfits a while back (well first two seasons it went to shit after that).
-

anyone seen Vikings?

Have a bit of stuff to watch now, although the much anticipated final season of Breaking Bad starts this weekend!
-

I watched an episode of a show called "The Bridge" the other day and really liked it. Now need to watch the first 2 to catch up, and will start watching weekly. About a serial killer on the border between Mexico and the US. Diane Kruger is in it, which attracts my attention immediately (fans need to watch the directors cut of Troy).

Is Breaking Bad really that good? I see it has just started on FX over here, from the beginning, and i am really considering watching. Especially given you think it has an end in sight.

Another that starts later this month that looks alright is "Low Winter Sun" anyone know anything about it?
-

Came across this cool show not sure if many have heard of it, Game of Thrones.

Just into season 2 at the mo, tons of tit and some dialogue?

Not a bad watch if anyone else is keen.

It's always good when you stumble over little known gems
-

Caught a preview for this while I was watching ESPN:

http://www.search4hurt.com.au/

There were three episodes on last night, which roughly broke down into:

- They mentor a woefully underprepared American Lawyer for an Ultramarathon in Texas. He gets about halfway through before shutting down due to fatness and softness.

- Tough Bloke Challenege in Victoria

- Training with Aussie Crossfit Champ, Chad Mackay - that is one seriously powerful dude

- Training with Richmond AFL club

- Training with the Melbourne Rebels

The Crossfit stuff was killer, but the AFL upper body workout was mildly insane - pullups and push press (military press) at around 60% of body weight together for 20 minutes. Start with 5 reps of each and keep going until you fail, then drop to 4, then 3, etc. The idea is total tonnage - he got to 11 tons with a body weight of 70kg and a push press of 40kg. The AFL players in the mid-high bracket get to 15 tons. That is a lot...
