You will definitely enjoy it, was a movie to go into with no idea what to expect.
Flies by pretty quickly as wellMaybe that's what helps films like Solo and RO, less expectation than the main SW films
Or maybe it's just cos RO is actually a better film than the two recent main ones?
Oh yeah. There is no one factor. RO has been the best of the new films so far imho

After watching Cobra Kai, and the excellent job they did grafting the new story to the old, it shows that you can pay homage to the films/shows gone before, yet still take things in a different interesting direction and stay true to the original concept. The main SW films have not reached that point yet, they are repackaging old stories and ideas, adding little bits and calling it new
-
Solo.
Loved it.
Had no problem with the new Han and Chewie was cool. Had enough tie-ins to old stuff along with new ideas.
:::
The old prequel character will have you working out timelines. Those that haven't followed the other canon pieces may be scratching their heads.

Yup had to have a look through to work out this current timeline and where he fits in

Yep. Kobra Kai is the absolute blueprint for taking something beloved and iconic and not ruining it or pissing off the fans. It is pure gold. Lucasfilm should take note but they won't.

Given SW has probably the big fan base out there, not going to please everyone.
Speaking for myself I’m more then happy how the new films have been so far -

Absolutely. Awesome follow up. Not that Karate Kid is close to SW but it's hard to think of a follow up nearly as good as it's source material.

Not only nearly as good, but richer. KK, like SW is a kid's film. But they managed to bring in current themes, and more mature themes. It is a fine line between kitsch and not. Kobra Kai achieved that, I believe that RO did to a significant degree. The mainline of SW films have not, yet anyway

At some level, all the Star Wars films are enjoyable because Star Wars.
Hopefully that continues.

@virgil think that can apply to many movies/TV series though, not just SW.
Pick through many and you find inconsistencies or plain old BS, guess it depends what you want out of a film.
I usually just want them to be fun, guns, 'splosions, boobies, space ships, zombies, car chases, fights...and if you can get them all in the same movie, even better

Yeah I mean nothing is better that the starting music and crawl. That is awesome at any time. But you have to back it up. You can't just serve up dross and hide behind reputation. There might be some weirdo who will unconditionally love whatever garbage is produced but I think most people have higher expectations than that.

Here's one to quiz your kids with at Solo.
Spot the actor making their sixth appearance in SW movies, playing a different character each time.
Kids?? My kids laugh at fart jokes and punch each other. Not spotting acting quirks in sci fi movies. I blame their mother.

OK then, big kids. (the ones that still laugh at fart jokes but also spot trivia in SW movies)

Apart from the seemingly endless bits of 'fan servicing' in Solo there are some fun references to other movies as well
:::
When getting chased through the Maw (very ESB like), Han refers to a trick taught to him by a drag racer called 'Needles' (Back to the Future) then, when they 'boost' the Falcon they do so through a fusion generator that looks very similar to the one Doc Brown installed on the DeLorean.

Really enjoyed Solo. I thought there were enough connective moments to link to other movies.
Acting wasn’t too bad either.

Boba Fett movie is back in development.
Director of the brilliant Logan is on board.
Let’s hope it avoids the off screen dramas of RO and Solo!
