Movie review thread...

Gold Class Lounge at the movies on Saturday. Saw "Elysium" with MATT. DAMON. And Sharlto Copley as a particularly badass mercenary psychopath.

Was watchable, but fairly standard sci-fi dystopia gear. Worth seeing at the movies though

-------------------------------------------
I hate autocorrect ...

Finally got around to watching "Zero Dark Thirty" last night. I thought it was fucking awesome. Long, but awesome. I started the movie feeling uncomfortable with "us" being the good guys, but using torture. By the end i was "stealth helicopters? fuck yea!".

Yes, it's a dramatic interpretation of "actual" events but i thought it was pretty cool.
-

Watched The Iceman and Olympus has Fallen;

The Iceman, based on the true story of a hitman (which I only realised yesterday has been on Discovery or Nat Geo recently too) Kuklinski? Easy watch, not sure how close it was to the actual events, but worth a look

Olympus has Fallen; typical action film where 1 man can take on an army and win, at around 2 hours, a bit long for this genre IMO, but still, shooting, fighting, explosions, secret weapons....
-

Olympus has Fallen really was a throw-back action flick. i was entertained.

I watched "Drive" last night, and i am still not actually sure what it is supposed to be about. Strange movie. The gratuitous gore was completely unexpected.
-

We have a DVD sunday once every 4 or 5 months if the weather is poke and the farm is ok and we couldn't have picked three worse movies

A good day to die hard. (I loved the previous 4)

Warm Bodies. awful.... blimmen awful

Turning 40. Awful.... just blimmen awful.

Need I say more
-

A Saffa is hunting them all. Lots of Mexicans die. 7.5/10

Agree. I only got around to this the other day as it looked like crap in the trailers. Was pleasantly surprised that all of the plot holes were easily non annoying except for one (see spoiler). Good gung-ho old fashioned Die Hard (the original) type action flick.
Everything hinged around the terrorists needing three super secret access codes but the codes were so friggin easy they could have been cracked by a spotty 13 year old hacker on a Sinclair ZX.
-

If it is any consolation for you, Gerrard Butler gets his shirt off... ;)
-

Time you came out of the closet then mate, you owe it to your wife!

I see that Ben Afflick has been named to play Batman. That has to be some kind of sick prank surely.

From what I've heard Butler is more Obleix than Leonidas these days. -
