Watched season 3 after a very long break as season 2 didn't really do it for me. Glad I did, best yet I reckon. Told my brother about it and he cleared through all 3 seasons in a couple weeks. Two eps in on the 4th, bit slow so far, hoping the 3rd changes that

I series linked a series on UKTV a few weeks ago called The Fear, watched ep 1 last night and looks like it could be a good watch.
 
Set in Brighton where a Mafioso type (the Irish father from Top of the Lake) is struggling with his mind slipping into dementia or similar while he also struggles to retain his hold on the town as the Albanian gangs look to take over.
 
Also seen a couple eps of Da Vincis Demons, looks watchable, but nothing special.

As I said, the characterisation on this show has gone to the dogs. I don't think they did enough build up work in turning him into another Clay. That's just my opinion but I feel like I'm watching a different show. 
I think Jimmy Smits should be added to every show to add a but of gravitous.

I'm not so sure. The whole arc of the show has been watching Jax change from an idealist to realist to a dark place. I'm expecting that the rest of the arc will either show his total downfall or saving.
Fair to say the show is in a pretty farked place at the moment though with few hints on where the light at the end of the tunnel is.

They seemed to speed up the arc in about 2 episodes!

the show is missing OP and to a lesser extent Bobby so far IMO...I have not yet watched ep 3.

I reckon OP was Jax's conscience, now that he is gone, Jax has no one to reign him in.
 
I reckon there has been a pretty decent arc to Jax's progression. Every season he has pulled off some under handed shit to rescue the club, and each season what he has had to do has been worse and worse. I think he has just lost site of what "for the good of the club" means, and who the real enemies are. 
 
All i can say is, they better fucking end this show. I think they are signed on for this season, and one more, and in my eyes that should be enough to wrap it up.

Yeah the show must be on it's last legs, maybe the writers should have the MC contact Saul Goodman given I hear there have been whispers about a spin off involving him, and do a show merge :)

Jax is simply becoming everything he hated about Clay and the MC. 
Speaking of Clay, starting to feel a bit sorry for the guy... 
As for the US Marshall dude, WTF! How much sway can a retired US Marshall really have on a current Investigation!!

No clue? So he goes Nomad? Is that a big deal? I assume being Nomad, they are allowed to operate in any other charter's "area" but not be bound to that charter's president. Thus setting up Bobby to be around Charming, but not having to do what Jax says?
 
There really are no likeable people left on the show at all. The whole MC pretty much deserves to be locked up for life, or killed in a shootout or something. Now that would be an ending to rival the Sopranos fade to black.

5 episode drama from the BBC
Gillian Anderson plays inspector tracking down a serial killer.
Set in Belfast.
Cold, unsettling, layered, brutal at times, but compelling viewing.
 
Makes you feel a bit dirty after watching it.
Could be handy to have an episode or two of Community on hand to lighten things afterwards.

Episode 1 of Season 3 of "Homeland" lat night. Decent start. One thing though, after all this time, i still couldn't give a fuck about the Brody family (once the wife got her tits out in the first minute of the show, her role was done) and the show would have been improved if they had been at the CIA when it blew the fuck up. 
 
I also watched some shit called "The Black List" (or, as channel 7 called it "James Spader's The Black List") it's utter, utter rubbish, avoid. The suspensions of belief required just to allow the show to function are baffling (apparently the FBI are fucking retards, and the smartest, most capable person in the room is the girl on her first day).
