@nepia Critics (e.g. Zack Handlen at the AV Club) who followed it over the season regarded it as a poorly written mess.

    It's shit.

How can it be poorly written? Find new planet. Kirk has sex with scantily clad inhabitant. Scotty finds more power. Klingons get defeated. It's logical.

The new one is better than Voyager and DS9 at least.

    Too easy 🙂

That said DS9 is pretty meh. But back to Discovery, how do they have the Enterprise, Pike and Spock and not leave people wanting to watch that show instead?

I listened to The Infinite Monkey Cages podcast on Space Exploration last night. Patrick Stewart was one of the guests and was (reasonably) funny

    What a mess.

No reason you couldn’t make an awesome Star Trek film for 80 million. It doesn’t need Star Wars like space battles every five minutes.

Write a good story, and make the brand stand out instead of copying what Disney is doing.

The producers should sit down and watch Wrath of Khan

@Kirwan It sounds like the new Picard show will replace Discovery, but it will have the same convoluted licensing agreements dictating content ...
