What a mess.

No reason you couldn’t make an awesome Star Trek film for 80 million. It doesn’t need Star Wars like space battles every five minutes.

Write a good story, and make the brand stand out instead of copying what Disney is doing.

That sounds like wishful thinking on your part. Everything I’ve heard about the Picard show so far doesn’t scream marquee Trek show. They are trying something new there, I’m expecting a small quirky show.

The new Star Trek has not grabbed me. For now, I will stick with The Orville, while waiting for the new series of Lost In Space for my space-fixes

Got a source yet for Discovery being replaced? Everything I’ve read so far contradicts what you posted about Picard replacing it.

Did you watch the Short Treks? I liked the Calipso one, was decent sci fi without unnecessary darkness/action.
