Rangiora Drains well. Play Pegasus. I think it is over rated but it is still a very good course. I'll play there again.

Forgot to post up about Rangiora. Ended up choosing to play here on the 31st rather than Pegasus and glad I did as it is a lovely course that was in top notch condition despite the rain. Great greens with consistent pace and some of them were massive (see pic below). Didnt play that well at all though and had an 85 that included plenty of recovery golf and only 1 birdie. Cheers for the recommendation Hooroo. Will definitely play there again. Favourite course I played during my trip to christchurch.

Played Redwood Park yesterday (in Auckland) and had an 82 again with alot of recovery golf. Only hit a couple of really cracking shots and one was through the back on the green from the tee on a short par 4 and then another was a 6iron I smashed about 150m in to a strong headwind to pin high on a tough par 3. Missed birdie putt lol. Was mint day though and some nice looking holes there if not overly long.

Hoping to get another couple of rounds in this week before I return to work.

I didn't realise you hadn't played Rangiora before. I love that two tiered par 3.

Yeah hadnt played Rangiora before. The par 3 is pretty awesome eh. Another massive green with a huge break on it. I was long and left and needed to chip it back down to the 2nd tier. Quite a challenge to keep on the green!

Played waitamata this morning but was rubbish. Not a huge amount of pars and no birdies. Pretty much bogey golf.

Yeah thats the one mate 268m par 4 about the 15th. Prick of a hole as it goes left to right and I play a draw lol

Actually the 11th is very similar and might even be the one you are thinking off. First shot needs to go about 180m and then you have another 120-130m to the green. Also goes left to right and for me is a pretty horrible hole.

been a long time since I played it, but has a big lne of trees to the right to stop you going straight over, but sounds more like the 11th where you hit med iron off the tee and then a short iron in.

Yeah that will be the 11th i think. They have a sign up now saying not to hit clubs further than 180 or something like that.

Played at Pakuranga yesterday. First time playing there and course is OK. Pretty average length and quite undulating in parts without have any major hills. Par 5s were pretty short and a mate of mine had a 3 inch put for eagle on one of them.

I shot an 87, no birdies but 4 doubles due to a couple of OB off the tee. Was pretty woeful to be honest.

Sounds like a great weekend mate. Are you going with buggys or walking it? Both courses arent overly long but there is often a fair bit of distance between holes.

Walking it most likely. Maybe buggies. It will be hangover dependant

Aren't buggies part of the green fees there?
