Yeah thats the one mate 268m par 4 about the 15th. Prick of a hole as it goes left to right and I play a draw lol

Actually the 11th is very similar and might even be the one you are thinking off. First shot needs to go about 180m and then you have another 120-130m to the green. Also goes left to right and for me is a pretty horrible hole.
-

been a long time since I played it, but has a big lne of trees to the right to stop you going straight over, but sounds more like the 11th where you hit med iron off the tee and then a short iron in.

Played at Pakuranga yesterday. First time playing there and course is OK. Pretty average length and quite undulating in parts without have any major hills. Par 5s were pretty short and a mate of mine had a 3 inch put for eagle on one of them.

I shot an 87, no birdies but 4 doubles due to a couple of OB off the tee. Was pretty woeful to be honest.
-
Aren't buggies part of the green fees there?
-

yeah I hate buggies, even if I am able to have one, I might put my bag on but will stil walk most of the way.

Played twice at the little Otumoetai course over the weekend. It's short, and pretty easy, not a lot in the way of hazards around the joint is there? Still, it's cheap, and 5 mins drive from Mum and Dads, so was perfect. Seemed to hit the ball further in the cooler air, what's up with that? Being able to bring my own clubs was awesome.

PLaying Formosa on Saturday and Gulf Harbour on Sunday this weekend. Can't wait. Then the Karaka Millions at Ellerslie!

How did it all go mate? Interested to see what ya thought of both courses -
Loved them both. I felt sad playing Formosa. It was nice to play but felt like playing in a war torn city. You could see what used to exist and while it was nice to play you can only think of it in its former glory. I hope they turn it round but they won't. It is just too big.

Gulf Harbour magic. Loved playing it Played rough both days. Knocked in a couple of good birdies at Gulf Harbour though.

Would play them both again in a heartbeat. -

Share those thoughts on formosa eh. Still a good course but just doesnt have the $$ put in to it that it needs to in order to be kept at a high standard. Some decent holes though.

Gulf Harbour looked to be heading the same way a little while back but sounds like they have turned it around.
