They do a deal usually with buggys but we never use em. Prefer to walk it

Played twice at the little Otumoetai course over the weekend. It's short, and pretty easy, not a lot in the way of hazards around the joint is there? Still, it's cheap, and 5 mins drive from Mum and Dads, so was perfect. Seemed to hit the ball further in the cooler air, what's up with that? Being able to bring my own clubs was awesome.

I'm working at the mount today and should have jacked up 9 holes after work as I have the clubs in the boot and it appears to be clearing

back in a couple of weeks. don't think i'll bring the clubs next time. Te Rapa races on the 8th is looking more and more like a go though

How did it all go mate? Interested to see what ya thought of both courses

Loved them both. I felt sad playing Formosa. It was nice to play but felt like playing in a war torn city. You could see what used to exist and while it was nice to play you can only think of it in its former glory. I hope they turn it round but they won't. It is just too big. 
Gulf Harbour magic. Loved playing it Played rough both days. Knocked in a couple of good birdies at Gulf Harbour though. 
Would play them both again in a heartbeat.

Share those thoughts on formosa eh. Still a good course but just doesnt have the $$ put in to it that it needs to in order to be kept at a high standard. Some decent holes though.
 
Gulf Harbour looked to be heading the same way a little while back but sounds like they have turned it around.

have 2 days of pairs matchplay on this weekend on my home course (short 9 hole course - around 2600m for 9) looking forward to it, although our oppoisiotn in the first round, one of the pair is a burglar, he should be on about a 5 but plays off an 11, so I have to give him 2 shots!
 
for sh!ts and giggles am gonna turn the GPS on to see how far I walk in a round vs the course length

PLayed Maramarua on the weekend. What a neat country course. Throughly recommend it

It is a nice little course Hooroo and not that far from Auckland at all. I remember doing a club trip there on a bus when I was a junior at Pupuke. Was a great day and I recall having a near hole in one on one of the par 3s.
 
Speaking of Pupuke, its their 100year centenary this year and they have alot planned for late March including some a few different open tournaments, ambrose day, a twilight 9 hole tournament etc. Going to try and get involved as love that course after playing my first 7 or 8 years of golf there as a kid.

I nearly binned a 3 wood for a hole in one on the short par 4 (250m), It lipped round rather quickly and I missed the 6 footer for eagle. Was such a mixed round. My Driver was awful but I managed four birdies but only one par.

Driven past Pupuke a number of times and thought I should play that course!!
 
Did you know Tony Mayo JK, pretty sure he was from there?

I know the name mate but don't know him personally. He was there when I was back in the mid 90s though. Along with likes of Richard Lee, Mike Hendry and John Shin (on Canadian Tour now). Was a really good club and the greens are always amazing.
