<p>I have seen it and yes it is basically the same story. I enjoyed that one too. I hope this is a shift back to dumb action movies that are just heaps of fun. I thought Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum or Tatum Channing, or what the hell his name is were a pretty good buddy/buddy pairing.</p>

<p>I watched that the other night ... I think it's supposed to be contemporary but the car might cause confusion and the water park is very dated. But I think they actually reference the water park in saying it is dated.</p>

<p>Steve Carrell plays a good arsehole TBF. I thought it was decent.</p> -
<p>Sam Rockwell was pretty good too, but Carrell plays an excellent douche. The car was one thing, but those teenage girls would have been glued to their cellphones if it was present day. It was made by the people that did the descendants which I enjoyed too, Clooney was pretty good in that I thought. </p>

<p>I had to wiki that, he's a talented bugger and did very well at the various awards out of the Descendants . I've met a few people that thought it was a bit average but I thought it was really well done .</p>

<p>Glad somebody else likes that. I only saw it once, about a decade ago on the big screen when it was released, and I thought it was as absorbing as it was disturbing. I'll have to look for it again some day and see if my original assessment holds up.</p> -

<p>American Hustle- a good movie, but not a great one. Acting performances all good (especially JLaw, who is just so... watchable), and had a storyline that was fairly entertaining, although a little confusing at times. Did tend to meander a bit though, and in the end didn't have the punch that it could have. Wouldn't be in my top 3 contenders.</p>

<p>Her- liked this one a lot. Really original storyline, offered something very different to the other best picture movies I have seen. Light-hearted, but makes some pretty sharp observations about love and humanity without descending into chick-flick romance rubbish. Reminded me a bit of 'Stranger than fiction' for some reason... simple enough quasi sci-fi concept but really well executed. In my top 3 with Gravity and 12 Years a Slave.</p> -
<p>Thought <em>American Hustle</em> was a mess. Jennifer Lawrence was horribly miscast. Bale was entertaining. Renner's character was ridiculous.</p>

Donâ€t worry, Rosenberg said, he knew Camden mayor Angelo Errichetti.<br><br>
Errichetti was a foul-mouthed megalomaniac and “a crook at heart,†Greene wrote. At their first meeting, Errichetti told Weinberg that he could promise a gambling license. “Iâ€ll give you Atlantic City; without me, you do nothing,†he told the sheikhâ€s associates. “Iâ€ll be your rabbi.†He wanted $400,000 in bribes. And over the next year, he offered to get the undercover agents into all types of scams. “He wanted to get into counterfeit money. He wanted to give us the port of Camden for narcotics,†Weinberg said. As The Sting Man shows, Abscam was becoming so outrageous that it was turning into an American Farce.<br><br>
Errichetti opened Abscam wide, and connected Weinberg to a whole host of U.S. congressmen. It had become a political sting. By then, the sheikh wanted American citizenship, and middlemen were finding corrupt politicians who could help in the matter in exchange for cash. Errichettiâ€s proxy in American Hustle is Carmine Polito, played by Jeremy Renner. Russell created a charismatic and trusting family man who wanted the sheikh to reinvigorate Camden and Atlantic City—to create jobs for his people. Christian Baleâ€s Irving Rosenfeld liked Polito so much that he engineered a scheme to blackmail the FBI into giving Polito a reduced sentence. Thatâ€s completely made up, although Weinberg did like Errichetti very much, not because he was a good man but because he was the biggest crook of them all. “Heâ€s a likeable guy… he didnâ€t beat around the bush,†Weinberg told 60 Minutes. “He wanted to make money.â€[/color]</blockquote> -
Wolf of W all Street: bloody long at 3 hours! But I really enjoyed this, I know we should be despising Jordan, but you can't help but think he is all kinds of awesome in this! Living life to the fullest, sex, drugs, sex, drugs and then a ton more drugs and then some more, even if he cheats on prob the hottest wife he could get?<br><br>
Plenty of nudity to satisfy your inner M4L.<br><br>
Acting was very good too, de Caprio was very good, Jonah Hill was great as Jordan's sleazy and depraved sidekick. Based on Jordan's memoirs so maybe he embellished some of it although there were enough people in a lot of the situations to verify what happened. A brief cameo by mcconnaughy too which was good also. <br><br>
Easily the best movie I have seen recently, with a great story, some laughs and great acting.<br><br>
[spoiler]loved the scene when he was at the Country Club and they had taken the old drugs...<br><br>
jordan only spent 22 months in prison, Steve Madden double that, so Jordan musta thrown him under the bus, similar with his mate Donny. <br><br>
Can't believe he tried it on with Joanna lumley....[/spoiler]
