Ultramarines - I was into Warhammer 40K as a younger man and had heard, just before I departed the hobby, that they'd started work on a movie. Disappointing to say the least, especially given the quality of PC games they've produced. This wasn't even cutscene animation quality! Story was OK, but not much made sense in terms of the universe, right from the weaponry through to the armour and tactics. I had to rewind to a teenage me to extract any enjoyment out of it, and hey in the 90s it would have looked good!

NTA, if you want good 40K as an adult, read the <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaunt's_Ghosts'>Gaunts Ghosts series of novels by Dan Abnett

After ditching the Superbowl at halftime I went and watched Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.

Plot goes recent high school grad and his dumb friend investigate (with a camera of course) the strange neighbour who lives in the apartment below them. While doing that a high school friend comes running out of the house and disappears. Cue demon ghost once again. A lot of plotholes. Cheap and silly horror series but I still enjoy it. 6/10

I've been saying this for years to howls of condemnation from his fans. But I came to like him eventually due to the fact I knew he'd always be the same ... and many watchable actors are like that.

Sad way for him to go after seemingly fighting his demons for 20+ years.

Speaking of PSH, watched the Hunger Games sequel and thought it was really good (as a movie, I don't have the Jennifer Lawrence obsession of some) and set up the 3rd movie really well. It was weirdly a rehash of the first one but seemed to just be better.

Recently watched Safe Haven by accident (letting my nieces choose the film to watch) which is one of those romantic movies like the Gosling and McAdams one (jegga will know the name). Wasn't good, wasn't bad, ok, it leaned more to the bad.

Also watched Escape Plan and enjoyed, Arnold busting out his german was funny.

Tried to watch Oz the Great and Powerful but gave up after about 1/2 an hour as I was bored as buggery despite the fact I'd seen Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, and the chick from Rectify. If that ahem 'talent' can't hold your interest then there is no point watching anymore.

Yeah have read some of them and some of the newer literature in The Black Library. It's good stuff, which is what made the movie all the more disappointing; giving human fears and doubts to genetically enhanced, remorselessly indoctrinated killing machines seems wrong on so many levels.

They're not supposed to question orders or go into stupid tactical situations like that.

And the sound effects for the power armour and weapons were just all wrong.

I have my limits and there's very little chance of nudity on her part in one of those tear jerkers she's been in. I thought my feelings about Turei were not the least bit repressed, I imagine she only joined the greens after being harassed with harpoons by the Japanese on their way to the southern ocean while she was out for a swim. They told her it was for scientific purposes I bet.

I was meaning the post-apocolyptic type movies would make it easy to write someone out, but with so little filming left, am sure the digital folks wil already be on it...

Saw Wolf of Wall Street last night. Shave an hour off and you'd have a great film. Was still entertaining but far too long. Scorcessi overindulging. Very good acting.

Lincoln: Excellent. Daniel Day Lewis GOAT. Nobody comes farking close.
