@nevorian haven't read the article but something to probably take into account is almost all those tests would involve the ABs. So most of the ABs kicks are probably from conversions, which are more likely to be tougher kicks than penalties which you generally only take if there's a high chance of success. Plus, I'd say the ABs aren't exactly renowned for having gun kickers when compared to other sides.

How good was old mate Chris Paterson from Scotland. 36 kicks In a row. What a player.

It's up north somewhere. The people are super friendly and not dour at all, the cuisine is delectable and the weather is just fantastic.

While we're pointing the finger at players, a friend who was at the game said TJP would have scored his try after the Goodhue linebreak if he had ran towards the corner. For some unknown reason he cut back towards the defence and was tackled by Whitely.

@Bovidae yeah that annoyed me at the time, he ran completely the wrong angle when he got the ball. I thought he was in for all money.

@bovidae I mentioned it at the time on here, I wondered why he didnt keep tracking across the park, with the angle he was running he should have dotted down well inside the RH corner.

We're building a good list of scapegoats now:

Jordie - outrageous quick throw with Bok defenders everywhere
Rieko - bundled into touch too often / called for quick throw then ran away from it
ALB - dumb intercept gifting them a try / ignored A Smith on his outside butchering a try Folau style
Beauden - woeful kicking, both at goal and in general play
Read - buck stops with the captain when setting up the winning play (drop goal FFS)
TJP - butchered a try running the complete wrong angle and got cut down by a big fat no. 8
DMac - poor ball security on the final play when we had an overlap

Think that covers it - anyone else we can hate on?

He cut back because he was getting run down. I think the main camera angle showed that IMO.

Don't scapegoat TJPs decision, scapegoat his pathetic weany slow-twitch fibres ...... :man_running_light_skin_tone:

His getting a good head start and running stupidly flat support running lines ..... now explained .........

@rapido Whiteley is bloody fast though. I don't think there is another backrower in world rugby who would have been able to chase TJ down with the head start he had.

just remembered his butchered kick off that didn't go the ten metres - perhaps that's why we didn't go the drop goal option later!

Latest rankings. Cab someone explain how these work ? Full credit to S.A. but surely one won doesn't guarantee a jump of two spots?

Australia at 7 ? That must be their lowest ranking ever

Nah, in the 70s they managed to get to ninth. Predictably there are claims the coaches have to go, with counter claims asking "ok, who?".

I think making the RWC final in 2015 gave a false impression. It's been a continual slide. Since then they've managed 15 wins from 36 Tests, a success rate of 41 percent.

As has been mentioned it's a game of inches, how close was it to is talking about a great comeback.
Only issue for us is how do we bounce back? If we lose to either Pumas or Sth A that wld be more of issue. How lucky are we that I'm. It sure the last time we lost two in a row, let alone to the same team. The next 12 mths is more about psychology and momentum going into WC more than anything else. We Cld bury teams mentally now by winning rest of games.
In saying that I thought we might lose two this year. The eoy tour is going to be a real task let alone playing SA over there on back of this game. #trusttheprocess

At least 3 other blues played in the match and there's only one in the list.

Aaron Smith for the quick tap penalty when we should have been kicking for the corner

@nevorian Aaron Smith has a habit of taking the quick tap and it rarely comes off. The guy is excitable but he needs to reign in his excitement levels and use his brains at times.

Mark Keohane is a profit. That is all.

particularly whilst waiting around at airports
