I thought it was 7/8th awesome. The final episode didn't stick the landing for me, not sure why, it just didn't (for me).

Still, it's likely in my 10 best shows of all time.

Any of you fullas heard anything about this show "resurrection"? Ch7 is pumping it hard but I think I am going to give it a miss. I just know they are never going to come up with a decent enough explanation to build a show around, and I am going to get the shits. These supernatural shows rarely work out.

It's based on a French show called The Returned which is supposed to be awesome - from the sounds of things Resurrection is pretty poor in comparison.

Just looking at fliipboard, rollingstone has a good article about true detective and the influence it's likely to have on future shows

What did you all think of the final ? The reviewer at the New Yorker is not pleased http://m.newyorker.com/arts/critics/television/2014/03/03/140303crte_television_nussbaum

I liked it the final. Perhaps you meant to paste this link. I don't agree with Emily Nussbaum, I also don't adopt a sneer of intellect for the New Yorker's readership. She's missed the point badly about threads that don't require tidying up - they're the fog of war, the dead ends from leads and assumptions that require investigating until they're not important as well as the daily minutiae that the detectives have to deal with in their lives and Nic Pizzolatto rightly ignored it in the end if it didn't actually matter in solving the case.

I hadn't seen the second article , she must be a bunch of laughs to hang out with. I enjoyed it though , kind if reminded me of the sopranos final episode .

I assumed you meant the second article too as the one you posted didn't address the final episode. She's a bit of a weird fish that reviewer.

I still don't think the finale lived up to the series as a whole (and I don't need all loose ends tied up in the least), but as I said the show is still awesome.

What were you expecting from the final? Not having a dig, just curious about the angle you were hoping for. One loose end I never want tied up is what that obese creature meant by "making flowers", interesting that the place where they had the ceremonies with the kids was quite overgrown and rundown.

Finale of Walking Dead - pretty good, if not a little predictable (the ending anyway)
That scene where Rick, Mishawn, Darryl and Carl killed those dudes was pretty brutal!

You always knew that Terminus was going to be a failure, the only question is to what end are they being held?

My thought was that they are feeding the Walkers somewhere which somehow keeps them away.

The fact that they could walk in without any resistance or seeing anyone should have alarmed them, although I guess they just wanted it to be a 'sanctuary' so bad, they ignored any warnings?
Am 8 eps into Justified also, as always, enjoyable, although I do miss the banter between Raylan and Boyd....

The scene where they killed those guys was in the book, terminus isn't though . They might be the main course for the residents.
That ties in with something my brother said about the comics, said there were cannibals but it was at a house rather than a 'city/safe haven' like Terminus.
This series has moved up in pecking order of my fave shows though; that harrowing scene a couple of weeks ago is testament to the show not being afraid to push things (not that that helped make it my fave)

Very keen for the next series now!

I don't know how to spoiler sorry.
The cannibals in the book failed as hunters so ate their own kids and moved onto hunting people. Because there was no electricity to run fridges and freezers they cut off limbs and ate them while keeping their victim alive to stretch the food further . I swear when they were running around the compound I heard someone yelling out "help us", will watch that part again . Also theres an incredibly gory drawn out death of a main character in the book that the author says is not likely to make it onto the show. I don't think I need to see someone slowly beaten to death with a baseball bat wrapped in barded wire to be honest with you.
Walking dead Finale
Terminus folk are definitely cannibals. As they were herding the through the station via gunfire, they ran through a pile of human skeletons and bones from earlier meals. The ending gave me the shits. Based on their experience with other groups (The Governer, Darryl's new friends etc), why are they still so trusting? Why not leave Michonne, Carl and Darryl in the woods to watch as Rick walks in alone to see what happens. That way, if it is a cannibal trap, you have options. Instead, all of them are in the railcar, waiting for their turn on the grill.
Walking Dead -
Yeah Rick was suspicious, but they still were far too trusting.

The fact there were no people on look out or guarding the gates/fences indicates they probably had people hiding or even stationed further out and had signalled the approach of new people, so they sit and wait.

I guess they just wanted the 'sanctury' so bad, they believed it, and let thier guard down. Tyrese and Carol are still out there, Beth is all alone, or possibly already been to lunch...Andrea is out there too I guess, but she's probably the leader of this lot!
