It has been many years since I watched Deadwood, but thoroughly enjoyed it, McShane was brilliant, recall soemthing about Hearst, but not enough to recall my feelings on it, but agree, the ending eas one, but not....some brilliant characters portayed in it too, particularly Swerengen and Calamity Jane.

A good few from Deadwood had decent roles in SOA as well.
-

TR: I thought Deadwood was bloody good, although I wanted Bullock to be a bit more like Raylan - he's basically Raylan written without a sense of humour. Ian MacShane was bloody good too. Most of the characters were great and the actors were all bloody good. Although I could have done without seeing Ron Swanson's penis. The non ending ending was fine for me to, it could have been a series end.

One thing annoyed me:
I don't know why they didn't just kill Hearst when they had numerous chances before his men arrived. Now, I guess there were forces behind him they could have worried about (but they could have stressed that more), and I know that in real life he wasn't killed - I didn't know that at the time - but to me they either alter history, or they write in some bodyguards for him so that it didn't seem so stupid that Al didn't kill him.
Jegga: I haven't seen the stand but I like most zombie films - although I expect it wont be as funny as Zombieland. That article is classic, although I like how the Maxim Institute guy was quick to point out socialism in NZ is actually 'compassion'. It might look like I'm overtly supporting Eug if I post it though.

Ok, looks like Walking Dead is my next show to watch.

Like TR said, theres a few little things in the walking dead like the lawns, car batteries still holding charge , petrol not going off etc you have to ignore but it has got better as its gone on. You might find the second series hard going though.

Eugenius like most boring hand wringing lefties would like to have an equivalent of the republican party to rail against , I would love to see his response to "Neocon John" saying most kiwis [including Key himself ]have a socialist streak .
-

Ha ha, that was just eliciting giggles from me until the Sean Bean and his family stuff, then I was ROFL.
-

As great as Tatiana Maslany is in Orphan Black, and I find different versions of her much more attractive than others, the hottest I have found her is in the guest role she played in two episodes of Parks and Rec!

I'm really looking forward to Orphan Black.
-

What is annoying is that if they'd played out the last 40 minutes over two seasons it could have been good - and maybe even piss funny.

Unfortunately I'd invested too long in the show so there was no way I could dodge the bullet.

Me neither mate. Talk about gutting. I stayed in it till the end waiting for the payoff that never came. They mailed in the last season for the most part and dumped that steamed turd on us as a farewell present
-

It's the MILF version that gets you hot isn't it?
-

Finished latest series of Justified.

Gotta say I enjoy this series more and more.

Only disappointment in this series was so little interaction between Raylan and Boyd, although I thought Michael Rappaport was very good.
Saw the ending coming a mile away, but I am a little conflicted about the possibility of the show without Boyd.
-
Thought Silicone Valley was ok. Will be interesting to see if its worth continuing with.

SyFy has ordered a series based on the Expanse novels:

Anyone watching House of Lies? Have just finished the third season and it just gets better and better I reckon. Little bit different than anything else in its style too.

I was going to start but some of the reviews I read were so so. Worth a look? It has a good cast
-

my brother has been watching S1 of House of Lies and reckons it's great, seen comments elsewhere (someone into politics) who reckons it is the business too.

Next season is the last so it sets the Boyd/Raylan showdown up nicely.

Didn't think this was the strongest season, too much going on. The Ava prison storyline bored me and went nowhere, and the Mexican thing got so convoluted I had trouble following it.
-

wondered if it might be the last one.

I guess the Ava bit was setting it up as to why she did what she did, but agree that angle was a it boring and all but pointless.

I liked the Crowes though, particularly Darryl and Dewey, and always been a fan of Alicia Witt (also, a character in a series of books I've read, Alicia is who I imagine her to look like)
-

I watched the first season and thought it was pretty decent. Don Cheadle is really good, Veronica Mars is good, Don Cheadle's missus is hot, the annoying guy from Pars and Rec is a little less annoying here. Only got about midway through the second before it did my head in and I stopped watching.

My previous job was in this broad area and I found it pretty unbelievable - but still fun in S1.

Justified: Didn't think this was the best season, it didn't have enough of a focus, not enough Boyd and Rayan interaction - probably on purpose in the set up for next season, but in saying that still one of my favourite shows on TV and I'm sad the season is already done.

Another one I'm bummed that the season is over is Shameless (US). I've always liked this show but I was really bummed when this season ended as I wanted more.
-
