Yeah the kids dig that shit. Similar to Shrek - my old man loved to watch that movie with the kids with all the embedded grown up jokes.

    Noah

The only thing biblical about this is the sheer scale of its shittiness. I tend to the atheist end of agnosticism and this had me praying it would improve as it went along. It didn't. Given the talents of those involved, it must be one of God's mysteries how this could be so, so bad. Remember for a second that the director is the same person who brought you Requiem For A Dream. So if someone suggests to you that you should accompany them and witness this travesty, kill them. Because halfway through you're going to want to kill yourself.

Russell Crowe is in it, that should have been a red flag to you for the impending shittiness of the film.

I concur. I watched Gladiator out of boredom last night and was mystified as to how he one an Academy Award for that. He was pretty good in Romper Stomper and fantastic in The Insider(1 of my favorutie movies, but I like most Mann movies) but after that he's been pretty piss poor. Master and Commander I just wanted to hit him inthe face!

Gladiator is fucking rad. Master & Commander is pretty fun as well.

But i think my favourite thing with old Rusty is the South Park episode "Making movies, making songs, and fight'n round the world"

Master & Commander was fun. Gladiator was very so-so, which is about the best you can say for late career Ridley Scott (have any of you fluffybunnies seen The Counselor? That was easily the most profoundly and unwittingly awful movie of the past decade).

Big Russ was fucking great in the Insider and Romper Stomper. I suspect they gave him the oscar as a corrective to over looking his performance in the Insider.

It was probably the best performance as a scientist I've seen, and as someone who is mostly a cancer researcher now, it's one of the few genuinely inspirering performances I've seen.

I haven't seen The Counselor, but i heard it's rubbish. Some of these blokes are battling to maintain reputation, see Oliver Stone and "Savages" which is a steaming pile of shit.

I disagree, Gladiator had some fantastic acting scenes, just not by Crowe.

First Roman soldier who looked like a chain smoker who'd rather spend the day at home with a tinnie or two.

Didn't get through The Counsellor. Can't imagine it got any worse from where I gave up.

I liked him in romper stomper, I don't get the gladiator hype though. I thought it was cool but not that special after the opening scenes vs the goths.
Maybe I can't seperate russ the jackass from russ the actor but I try to avoid anything with that aussie clown in it .

Ms. Browning was indeed not an ideal candidate for leading lady....but yeah, best bits in the movie, Jessica Lucas and the fact it ended, otherwise very cliched and overacting (looking at you Sutherland)

He was great in LA Confidential, too. When I first saw that movie on the big screen I thought he was awesome, and didn't even realize he was the same dude from Romper Stomper.

Tracks - based on the true story of Robin Davidson who decides to trek across 1700miles of Australian outback with a few camels and her dog. I quite liked it, bloody hard yakka to walk that far I bet!
