Not bad, but I feel it lacked some explosions.

Caught some of Michael Moore's spiel "Capitalism: A Love Story". 
 
Look, whenever you watch this bloke's stuff it feels like tabloid current affairs, but jeez he makes some good points about how rampant capitalism creates a complete screaming dud of a system. The unbridled corruption running through the halls of power in the financial sector in the USA is mind boggling. And you can see it happening here as our political systems become more lobby-oriented, run by fools who answer to rich men in the shadows.
 
Thankfully we still have some fairly tight regulation of the banking sector in Australia (and in NZ too from what I know of the consumer protection policies) that would head this sort of thing off in the first instance. Usually whenever you see "A Current Affair" (tabloid journalism as stated above) and some bogan whining about the bank ripping them off, its because they didn't read the Ts & Cs.

I watched "The Good Shepherd" for the first time the other night.
 
A 3 hour spy movie with zero suspense, awesome. It was interesting i guess, but takes itself faaar to seriously, and is actually pretty tedious at times.

Starred Up - gritty and brutal Brit drama about an extremely violent teen that goes from juvenile lock up to full on adult lock up, where his dad is also a imprisoned, as his father tries to look out for his boy, he tries to make his own mark.

I watched Michael Crichton's <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' class="bbc_url" href='http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082677/'>Looker</a> last night. It was a lot of goofy fun. Some of models were outstanding.

I watched Her and The Double in the past week.
 
Both movies were interesting. Phoenix wasn't too annoying in Her, and it was a watchable movie, but I don't think it lives up to the hype.
 
The Double was pretty out there, I haven't read the novel so unsure if it's exactly the same. I'm still not really sure of what was going on (there are a few theories but I'm can't say one makes more sense than the other). I did like the look of the movie, I thought it was going to be set in the UK anytime when the old tube trains were in existence but it was it's own time and place with a kind of The Hour look and feel.
 
For my next movie watch I think I'll just watch one with a straight ahead narrative.

I read a few message boards to make sure I wasn't the only one too. 
 
I was shocked when it started because I'd only seen the scene where they're ordering the scrambled eggs (on Graham Norton I think) and I didn't take that much notice of the clothes/cafe so I assumed it was a contemporary story.

Saw What We Do in the Shadows there this week, brilliant. Found it very funny and was quite cool having Jemaine and Taika introducing it and doing a q&a afterwards.

Just saw Divergent, was pretty good if you like the hunger games you'll enjoy it I think. One thing that irritated me was there are four male characters that look fairly similar and the main star is one to watch out for in the future, I think she's pretty cool.

Yeah very much like Hunger Games, but I enjoyed it.
 
Reasonable Doubt - Dominic Cooper and Samuel L JAckson
 
Thriller about a hotshot ADA who in a moment of stupidity decides to drive home after a few beers, on his way home he hits someone, stops calls 911 and flees. However when he hears the police have arrested someone for the murder of the guy he hit....Not a bad story, the minor twist comes early and isnt that hard to see, good enough film though.
 
Frontera - Ed Harris is a retired Sheriff in a small US/Mexican border town, but his life is turned upside-down when it appears 2 Mexicans crossing via his farm have killed his wife.

Finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy today - flippin awesome. I think it may be my favourite of the Marvel movies. 
 
It's been a good year for the blockbuster movies I've wanted to see: Captain America - bloody good, Edge of Tomorrow - awesome and then this.

Me too, and I love that's the most unlikely of them to succeed. Notice Karen Gillian as the blue girl? I didn't realise it was her until I read the reviews after seeing it.

I'm not Dr Who fan so don't really know about her.
 
There was a cheer at the end of the movie when I saw it ... which is pretty impressive for HB, we barely cheer when we win the Shield (I'm plugging that win like crazy across multiple threads).

Thanks for sharing. I caught the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds show in Calgary recently and it was something else. Can't wait to see this.
