So Californication has been on a bit here lately, think it's season 5 and 6, and have been watching a bit since I gave up at about season 3.

Anyway, the one question I can't get over with that show is how did two of the most attractive people (the ex-wife is an absolute stunner and not that I am an authority on these things but Duchovny does OK for himself) produce a daughter who is so plain? And she's just so whiny as well.

It's currently filling the same niche Entourage did for me, a bit of mindless Hollywood comedy/drama with plenty of sex, nudity, drugs and swearing. Pretty much a carbon copy of my life in suburban Sydney ;)

Quite like Californcation. I think it's just Hank. At first he was just an asshole but he became a terribly flawed nice guy after a while.

The abundance of titties helps the show no end

There's a few episodes worth of plot, but it's very thinly spread over 13 of them.

I enjoyed the books, have you read those? Are they doing one novel a season or stretching it out even further?

Episode 6 of Black Sails and while having threatened to take off since episode 1 it just plods along. Have come this far so will see it out to the end, but pretty farking disappointed. These so-called pirates are gayer than the Errol Flynn version.

1 episode to go in "The Bridge" seems like there is too much happening to finish in an hour, so i expect a cliffhanger to lead in to Season 3.

FX is showing all of "The Walking Dead" this weekend, 4 seasons straight. Wonder how much the hard drive on my Austar box can handle?

Finally got around to watching ep 1 of SOA....shit be happening!
Jax really has gone over the edge!

I really do wonder if Sutter will kill off Gemma! She is such a nasty peice of work!

Will Nero save her when Jax learns the truth?

If anyone kills her, it should be Uncer...but I reckon either Jax will get killed and his junkie ex take the kids or Jax will buggar off with the kids, leaving her all alone once everyone learns the truth, (cos Jax will need to leave anyway) because we know she will also be very quick to save her ass by spiling the beans about what Jax was about to do as well.
I cant access this thread at work as it tells me there is pornography in it somewhere!

Sadly just watched the final episode of Southland tonight. No, this isn't a reality show set amongst the racy world of horny dairy farmers in Otautau, but a gritty show about cops in Los Angeles which I really got into after discovering series 4 and 5 on late midweek. The finale of series 5 wasn't supposed to be the final episode ever but TNT for some reason decided to shitcan it and didn't renew it a little over a year ago. Shame, because this was the best cop show I've seen since NYPD Blue, and its no coincidence that these shows shared some creative influence. Had series six been filmed it would have started with some ripper storylines. Sigh. At least TWD is back on in less than a fortnight.

I haven't. Will check them vs the show via the magic of wikipedia. Maybe the problem is compounded by having little character development etc to space out the plot effectively?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Strain_(TV_series)#Development

After the first book's publication, studios and networks began making offers for the film and television adaptation rights, but del Toro and Hogan declined, not wanting a screen version to influence the way they were writing the books. After the third book's publication, the authors talked with every cable network that had expressed interest. FX was deemed most suitable because they wanted to follow the books closely and liked the idea of The Strain as a close-ended series consisting of three to five seasons. Del Toro stated that the first two novels can be covered by one season each, while The Night Eternal may be split into two or three seasons. The author is also open to creative detours that may develop as the series goes on, possibly incorporating material cut from the books. Del Toro intends to direct as many episodes as his busy schedule allows.[24] Before the series order was announced, FX gave the writing team the go-ahead to script another ten episodes, which del Toro rewrote.[27] FX president John Landgraf has stated that the series will consist of "39–65 episodes, no less, no more", adding "What if a television show could be just the length that is optimal for that story?"[28]

sons
it's pretty cool TV, they are so fucked! they are pissing off all the big players. Shit, when that cop wakes up they are fucked as she'll say they followed the Sons to that drug deal. Then the Pres of that other charter (who i reckon tipped of Lin) is pissed because they killed his son (i think).

And Juice is a loose cannon (who Peggy is going to off).

And it is all because of Peggy. I am going to be soooo pissed when she gets away with it all. That fluffybunny.

Fuck i can't wait to see how they dig their way out of this one, if indeed they do. It might almost be refreshing to see them get what's coming to them, they are terrible people.
Loving it (The Knick). I haven't watched this weeks one yet, but am really enjoying it. Homeland starts tommorrow. Wonder if it will get back on track now that they have finally resolved the Brody situation.

Neps, whats your question?
