@taniwharugby ah yes in terms of accuracy "based on a true story" is right up there with "I won't come in your mouth"

As mentioned above earlier, Raiders of the Lost Ark is a classic. Nearly 4 decades old and still better then most action/adventure films made since. How many iconic scenes can a movie have?
5 melting Nazi's out of 5 Bad Dates.

If you can find a more entertaining punch up than this one I'd love to see it. I love how Indy gets some quality shots in at the end....

    Aquaman

Let's get straight to it: Mrs TA really liked this film ๐Ÿ™„ because of fucking course she did! When he said "Permission to come aboard" I looked at her, and I think most women went this way but for realsies:

    225e3ec0-6855-40a5-a540-2737767cb27f-image.png

However, she did claim that there was not nearly enough shirtless action. I was going to agree verbally when it came to Amber Heard, but thought better of it.

I thought the film was good - particularly casting and getting the balance of humour and action right - but they reached for the spectacular a little too often and I couldn't take it all in.

Definitely the best DCEU movie so far, and a large part of it was no doubt due to an Aussie director and Aussie crews and Aussie locations.... ๐Ÿ˜‰

4 fish cakes out of 5 sea horses.

*Did I take advantage of Momoa warming up the wife back at the motel later? You fucking bet I did.

Who can blame her? Having met you I can confirm in certain light you'd look identical to JM....

@jegga considering Lawrence Dallaglio was the basis, a tall guy like Gerard Butler would do it, not a body builder type

Happened to watch Jack Reacher 2, while we're on the topic. "Don't go Back?" Or something...

Anyway it was a good way to kill a couple of hours. Cobie Smulders is hot. But it's basically the same as the last movie with a different location i.e. basically every Reacher book ever.

Agreeed - I've stopped reading them. The same reason I stopped reading Wilbur Smith novels decades ago.

So Mamoa would be ok then. He's a big solid unit but he's no Bautista/The Rock

The new version of Watership Down. I'm sure I'm one of many young people who was more than a wee bit traumatised by the original. Holy shit. You think it's going to be a boring bunny movie and they're farking killing each other. Death is lurking everywhere. Remember being absolutely transfixed. So cool.

The new version is very meh. The CGI is pretty crap (rabbits look more like kangaroos and are difficult to tell apart) and the 3 main characters aren't nearly as well developed despite the makers having much more time to work with. Bigwig in particular was terrible. He was an awesome character, but in this version he's just a psycho dick. One of the worst parts was a previously minor character Clover going to look for a presumed dead Hazel when it was Fiver (to the tune of Bright Eyes) who did this in the original. Kehaar the seagull is also an absolute prick. They developed the baddies much better (had more time) but heaps of violence was cut out. Being the BBC they of course injected some SJW bullshit into it (male rabbits can't dig apparently) but it didn't make much difference and I liked how they developed the struggles of the female prisoners. But ultimately the whole thing was a more sanitised version and what's the point of that? Will definitely be watching the original again soon.

I hate to be the guy who says "the book is better", but the book is better.

I read somewhere where the movie traumatised viewers. Not me. I thought it was awesome. Mind you I'd read the book, and was a little pissed off that they couldn't fit all of the story (and violence) into the movie.

Read the book to Ms Boo Jr many years ago.

Still remembers it fondly. As do I.

Agree, book is better (usually is). Saw movie first so was like a man being mugged in a meadow. Total shock. It was weird back then with animated films. Parents seemed to think animated automatically meant kids films. I recall being at a party and us kids being placed in front of a TV and shown Animal Farm. ANIMAL Farm ffs!

The rabbits didnโ€™t look like rabbits they looked like hares ffs, also the start and finish of the original were a lot better than in the sequel . They shortened them down and ruined them. As for male rabbits canโ€™t dig ....
Overall it was an underwhelming way to spend Xmas evening lying on the couch like a bloated beached whale . In revenge my son and I went out hunting and he got four rabbits and I got two hares . Thatโ€™ll teach the bbc to mess with one of my favourite movies as a kid.
