So I watched Noah and Frozen this week.

Frozen: was really good, once I got over the shock of it being a musical. I probably would have enjoyed it more if it didn't have the singing, or if I'd known about it going in. But, the fact I still really enjoyed it shows that it's a bloody good movie ... especially as I'm quite wide of the demographic market.

How could you not know Frozen was a musical, has a CD, a bunch of rip-off youtube clips of daughters singing it as well as mock versions all over FB? Where do you live again ;)

Am sure any Ferners will young daughters will attest to the fact that all you hear for months after was Let it go, let it go, belted out in wonderous tones...

I thought Noah was a bit shit, but then I dont know the bible as well as I thought....

I don't have any daughters, and my nieces are a bit too old, and I avoid the room where the TV is when my goddaughter watches stuff (flippin Wiggles), so it just went past me. I knew there was a famous song, I just thought it was the theme song, not one of many.

I'm so glad I have no young female relatives that get anywhere near my TV by the sound of all that.

Hideous, and a good reason for anyone to stop breeding or check the sex of their offspring before making a decision to keep them or send the missus to a hot bath with a bottle of gin.

Ouch I hope mrs Crucial never reads that.

My son asked what I'd do if he had of been born a girl and I told him I'd be building a compound in the hills like doomsday preppers when she turned 15. Of course being 9 at the time he took that as gospel and asked my brother in law where he was going to build his compound and then explained what he meant when my bro in law said "wtf?". Got a few frownings for that, he sends his tuneless offspring around occasionally to sing that awful frozen song.

Candyman

What a delightful little movie! Opening shots of the freeway, combined with the Philip Glass score, were brilliant.

Blu-ray presentation was OK, considering the likely quality of the film stock. Looked 16mm for a lot of the time.

The International - Clive Owen, Naomi Watts. Espionage thriller. 6/10.

I quite liked this all the way through (especially a most excellent shootout at the Guggenheim) but then it started coming undone, and committed the unforgivable sin of stopping rather than ending.

I like a resolution, even if it's a 'for now' rather than 'forever'. The hero got no payoff for all his effort, the villain company mosied on.

Oh yeah, and the way the heroine exited the storyline was stupid too, after all her efforts, including being run over.

Virginia Masden was pretty fine back in the day!

42: The biopic about Jackie Robinson. Harrison Ford plays an old curmudgeon bloody well - but then again he is an old curmudgeon. Pretty stock standard biopic TBH, watchable without being great, but gave me a good starting point to do some reading about Robinson and Ford's character.

I really enjoyed Interstellar as well and didn't have any issues with the sound quality.

As Kirwan said like an updated 2001 without the (same level of portentousness).

Enjoyed you didn't get a complete back story instead the little details showed how truly fucked they were.

Tars and Case also piss all over HAL. Gotta get me one of them for Xmas.

Didn't drag even though its 250 mins and gets a bit mystical at times - expected given the subject matter I guess.
