<p>Watched the first couple of eps of the new Star Wars Rebels animated series (on youtube). Quite cool and some good tie-ins with the movies without being heavy handed.</p>

<p>The main character is like a cross between Luke and Han as a teenager.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Certainly worth getting your kids onto so you have an excuse to watch cartoons.</p>

<p>With regards to the dude in the opening shot, this is a possible connection in the Star Wars Rebels new show.</p>

<p>Might just be me but IMHO from what I can see so far the Star Wars JJ Abrams treatment looks farken awesome. Less of the unrealistic SFX of the Lucas era, very promising</p> -

Colour me underwhelmed. I guess its still only a teaser but still....<br>
What's the deal with that lightsaber? Hardly going to make it easier to grip.<br><br>
I've seen StarWars Rebels a couple of times and like Clone Wars produce some new annoying Sith tool out of their ass. I thought Vader hunted down the rest of the Jedi, not some bald pommy bloke. -
<p>I think that lightsabre is a great idea to bring something different in (like the Darth Maul double blade job). It looks to me to be designed as a two handed Claymore type sword, although the sides to the hilt should be forward sloping.</p>
<p>Jedi supposedly build their own lightsabres to suit their own style. This one looks like a power weapon so there could be some good clash of style type fighting.</p> -
<p>The other speculation I've read is that they are vents, because he didn't have a Master to instruct him how to build one properly. Looks less solid than a normal lightsabre, so that's a good guess.</p>

<p>It's not as cool as the staff that Maul had, but lets see how it looks in a fight.</p>

<p>I liked the teaser trailer, showed a glimpse into what they are doing. Like the more lived in look that the original trilogy had, and the CGI is more subtle so that's a good start. How amazing is that music?</p>
