That was a ripper of a game of cricket, i really enjoyed it. Shit day to be a bowler though.

That said, Yadav was fucking fun to watch, it's an impressive bag of tricks he's got. Poor old Hard Dick, some muppet drops an absolute sitter. He get's smoked for 6. Then has a the batsman tangled with a short one, and it still goes for 4. No wonder he gave that yell when he took the catch.

Trent Boult Slams Unbeaten Century in Club Game

Mostly known for his fierce bowling, Trent Boult smashed an unbeaten 110 for his club side Cadets on Saturday (February 9). This was his third hundred at club cricket level.

@Baron-Silas-Greenback that is really cool. Hadn't heard that before... which makes it even cooler as I bet he isn't interested in telling people about it. Fark, you'd be equal parts excited and terrified facing him!

Safe to say at club level he bowls within himself and bats above himself....
...unless some little snot smashes him through covers for 4.. then he becomes a fast bowler again...

I've often wondered how I woulda have gone bowling to Chris Martin at his best.

Knowing my skills I'd probably make him look like Bradman.

I can tell you thing.. Boult will be STOKED to get a century on the clubs honor board...
When you are international player you don't get to brag really about your international accomplishments.. otherwise you are a fucking knob. But at club level trashing your club mates and pointing to your century on the honors boards is a rite of passage.

Ewen Chatfield never even managed a 50 at club level and has just recently retired however his innings against Pakistan with Coney surely beats anything Boult has ever done ( so far )

Happened prior to me being into cricket so I don't remember it but in the context of the game it's probably the most important 21 not out of all time. Apparently he faced more balls than Coney did.

Good win but you have to question Kane's captaincy. Sodhi and Santner had just been smashed for four sixes over two consecutive overs and he decides to give Sodhi another over which results in 16 runs being scored. Then he doesn't bowl out Mitchell who had bowled three high quality overs in a row but goes for Southee instead who hadn't bowled since his first spell.

He used to sort of stab at the ball. Nothing more brave than a guy who clearly has no ability for batting to stand firm. I recall an interview with Coney where he jokingly said something like Charlie was protecting me? Either way he did his bit and some. Coney did a lot of bailing out in those days

That new fella that played last night, what does he bowl? Didn't see the Indians bat so have no idea if he is a quick or not. I had never heard of him. Did he look any good?

@Crazy-Horse No real point of difference to him. Tall but not quick, no evidence of swing and he bowled a scrambled seam mostly. Slower ball, but who hasn't. Looked like a rank and file medium quick who wouldn't get a game in big bash even if he was born with the congenital disease known as Australian.😁

Benefited from being an unknown and if played another game against the same batters I'd expect cooernage.

Had a lovely attitude towards the fixture thoughπŸ˜‰

@Siam @Crazy-Horse I thought he bowled with good energy, really banging it in around the late 130s. Being a tall lad I reckon he provides a point of difference with a bit of extra bounce.

Also great to see Kuggelijn getting it through in the very high 140s too. Needs to work on accuracy, coz at the moment he’s serving the opposition at least one steak & cheese an over.

I was wondering how the average social cricketer would match up against former players a few times during the Black Clash too - particularly that first over where Dagg was bowling to Fleming.

This led to an contentious debate between me and a mate (both mid 30s social cricketers who can crack 115km/h at best) about who would be the most recent former NZ test captain (in their current age/state) you could legitimately dismiss given 5 overs at them?

The feeling was 67-year old Geoff Howarth for sure (particularly after a few pints), but that Ian Smith could be a wildcard given he hasn't picked up a bat at any level in 25 years and would perhaps have some physical...uh... limitations. Even in their 60s you'd have to think Coney, Wright and Jeff Crowe would be too good.
