Nightcrawler: Great movie, but man was Jake Gyllenhal creepy as fuck. He should have been in the running for best actor at the Oscars on that performance.

Yeah I really liked that too, I have no idea how Nic Hoult is a movie star (or how he dated Jennifer Lawrence for a few years), but that was very good.

Re Nightcrawler, saw a great idea the other day presenting Collateral, Drive & Nightcrawler as an "LA by night" trilogy. Really works eh

Saw John Wick last week.

Keanu being staggeringly cool. God its a fun film. Just some ridiculously cool shots where he excutes people while driving & so on. Its basically a Statham movie, only cooler & more violent.

The imitation Game: I thought this was bloody good, obviously they took some liberties with the 'true story' but that's to be expected with this type of movie - which might annoy some people but it didn't effect my enjoyment of it like The Butler. Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly were bloody good (Knightly seems to have figured out how to act in the past couple of years) and the supporting cast were good as well.

I think it was a good overview of Turing without being a complete life story obviously.

I also enjoyed this, I dont know alot about Turing to question or be annoyed by any liberties.

Against the Sun, another based on a true story when the 3 crew of an American plane are forced to ditch it the Pacific during WW2 and it's 3 crew are left on a tiny life boat.

A couple of things that bugged me, not sure where it was sheer luck (in the true part) or just laziness on the part of the writers as a couple of things were rather unbelievable, but otherwise a decent story (if not a familiar one)

Seems weird to have that one out at the same time as Unbroken which shared part of the same storyline.

He was good in Skins. Although the kid from Unbroken might surpass him and Dev Patel as the two most famous ex Skins cast members.

Agree that's a great idea for a trilogy.

seems to happen a bit, usually a 'blockbuster' version and a lower budget version of a similar story.

22 Jump St - 7/10.

Not as funny or clever as 21, and the plot was a bit thin this time around, but still enough snappy one liners, drug trips and bromance randomness to make it an enjoyable watch.

I thought it was one of the worst movies I had ever seen. And then the parents day scene made me laugh. And then the Channing Tatum scene in the office had me crying I was laughing so hard. Shit movie. 2 good scenes

That was probably the best scene, the worst was the crap with the american football and the guy Tatum decided to hang out with. The scene were Tatum tried to be hispanic and the fight/love scene weren't bad either. I wouldn't call it one of the worst films I've ever seen , when my son was little I had to sit through the Mr Bean film and the the one were Atkinson is some sort of spy which are both absolute crap and high on my list of worst films ever .Fortunately Rosamund Pike was in the second one which redeemed from being a total waste of 90 minutes of my life.

Yeah, the 'you fucked xx's daughter' was a good scene. And the fight between Schmidt and blondie.

Jegga - yes I did watch the credits, go promo go. And have to agree about the football guy stuff. It just didn't go anywhere. You're waiting for the whole friend or foe thing after he's made into such a prominent supporting character, then he just fades from the screen. And the length of time between seeing the villains at the start and the end, I'd forgotten who they even were when they turned up in the library, then oh yeah, you were the truck guys. Villains (and red herrings) need to be there regularly in person or action to remind of the menace that is closing in.

Been off sick from work, so have been doing a bit of movie watching, especially with the Oscar nominations out.

Boyhood- Yeah good film, don't quite think it lived up to the hype. Unique, a great achievement, but never grabbed me. It wasn't that sort of film, certainly worth a watch though. Really long. 7.5/10

Whiplash- Liked it, JK Simmons kills. Great subject material, good music, decent enough plot if a little predictable. 7/10

Birdman- Good movie, a real movie-makers movie. Direction was great, plot had its ups and downs, probably went 20 minutes too long for me. 8/10

Interstellar- How is this not nominated? Bloody great film. First hour is a bit slow, but the payoff is worth it. Really enjoyed this, despite the length. Nolan is a master. 9/10

Foxcatcher - Good film, but slow in parts. The performances are all excellent but it's a wonder that Carrell and Ruffalo were nominated for Oscars but Tatum wasn't.

About to read the book it was based on.

Watched "The Wolf of Wall Street" last night. If the idea was to create a picture of a bunch of douchebags being excessive, then they achieved it. I laughed a lot, but stories of drug abuse and hubris tend to lose me after a while. And then when the main character is basically brought down by narcissism, i found i got to the end of the movie not really caring. Anyway, the sequel is him making a shit-ton more money, and not paying back anything that he was supposed to, so the moral was fairly ambiguous.

Plenty of quality nudity on display. That Margot Robbie looks pretty fucking good with her kit off.
