<p>Well, the Foo Fighters certainly know how to put on a show. 2.5 hours, no breaks or encores, just music. Dave Grohl is definitely the best front man in modern rock. He may not sing as well as Mike Patton or Chris Cornell (used to), or play guitar as well as Billy Corgan, but no one has more charisma, works harder, and thus has a crowd eating out of his hand, like Dave does. And fuck, work! 2.5 hours running around like the excitable child he is, playing hard, screaming his tits off, while the other band members take a break, he plays solo. Man crush enhanced (again). </p>

<p>Great set list, classics from every album, a constant steam of crowd pleasers. As ever, i gained new appreciation for the new stuff after hearing it live, but even touring a new album, the focus was still on an immensely popular 20 years of work. "All My Life" is probably the best live rock song i have ever seen, 1) it's a kick ass track, and 2) it will get even the most static crowd moving. "This is a Call" was a pleasant surprise, there were a couple i would have loved to hear, but overall i thought it was awesome.</p>

<p>The little covers set in the middle was very cool. I don't think i've ever seen a band have so much fun on stage before. Included my favourite Rod Stewart song (yes, i have a favourite Rod Stewart song), obviously the aussie's went nuts for the AC/DC song, and no one know's who Rush are. Under Pressure was just hilarious, but well done. </p>

<p>One thing though, and i am unsure whether this is a "in my day" old man whinge, a Brisbane thing, or a kids these days thing. The crowd were shit i thought. Yes, they sung at the right time (or some did) but they were fucking static! Mrs Mariner and I situated ourselves about 20m from the front (about in line with the covers set stage). While we bounced, head banged, danced, and sung for the whole set (and fuck i am still sore today), sweating up a storm, the people around us, heaps of them in their 20s, just fucking stood there and watched. You boring fluffybunnies! They were more interested in taking photos, or video, or what ever. Dave was playing solo acoustic, and people around me were videoing the big screen rather than watching him for fucks sake. I don't know, maybe my focus was a bit different in my 20s, but i remember most people walked out of concerts looking wrecked, sweaty, and exhausted. The huge majority of the people even at the front left looking like they did when they got there. And barely anyone smokes weed any more! shit's changing man, and not in a good way. </p>

<p>But fuck those fluffybunnies, i had an awesome time, and i'll go again next tour, i can't think of a more entertaining way to spend 2 and a half hours. Nice work fullas</p> -
<p>Good news is the crowd was much better in Auckland (energy wise) and there def was plenty of pot. According to reports from my little blister that is!!</p>

<p>Behind Eddie Vedder. Foo's are great but Pearl Jam are still the best stadium rock band going around for mine.</p> -
<p>I prefer Pearl Jam over Foos to listen to but after three PJ Concerts, I find they lack a bit Live. First Concert of theirs I went to was fabulous, the second, great. and the third just good.</p>

<p>Everyone that goes to Foos concerts any time even the 5th and 6th come out saying the energy is amazing</p> -
<p>Eddie Vedder? as a front man? really? I've seen him a couple of times, he's a bit meh. At least he can face the crowd these days...</p>
