    Love Death & Robots

Netflix series that will probably remind viewers of my age and viewing habit of The Animatrix anthology.

This one is a little more varied in subject matter. The eps last anywhere from 5-15 minutes so you could binge it in an evening.

Mucho violence, heaps of nudity, and robots. Some really interesting animation styles from attempting sincere realism to quirky stuff as well.

    Not one for the kids.

5 steampunk zeppelins out of 5 bioengineered pit fighting monsters.

    What's this series based on?
I'm 5 minutes into the first episode - and I'm 100% sure I've read this exact plot, exact same characters, etc, in a book.
Edit: ah, and now I get to the credits, and see it's one of Peter F Hamilton's short stories. The rest of the series... the same? Or different source materials?

@Rocky-Rockbottom i really need to get back in to that. I got half way through the 2nd season and discovered i didn't really like any of the characters, so flicked it (i did the same with House of Cards). But i saw the trailer for this latest season and i like the way the story appeared to be going.

The first episode of Love Death and Robots might be the coolest thing I have seen in ages. Absolutely loved it.

Line of Duty Series 5 starts this weekend.

Hopefully the script doesn't get too unbelievable in wrapping the whole storyline up.

About halfway through the Netflix series on the McCann mystery. You know the one where the 3 year old disappeared while her responsible parents were dining at the resort.
We have all heard about this case as it’s dragged on for 12 years.
Definilty on the side of the parents had a role in her disappearance/murder.

The doco showed an investigator going through their rooms with 2 specialists dogs. One trained to react to human blood the other a cadaver dog (ie can detect where a dead human body was)
Both went nuts in a couple places. Especially the cadaver dog.

Most of these cases the culprit ends up being a family member, they aren’t very likeable either the McCanns

Just seen the bit with the cadaver dog. It walked past that spot twice without a care, then stopped and barked when the handler made it revisit a third time. Hmmm...

Finished Wayne...really good series, pretty crazy shit, but done in the right way (unlike the latest ep of Punisher I watched where he should be dead, but kicked the arse of 7 or so ex Military types)

Ending of Wayne not quite as I expected, but worked, some awesome characters too, like Wayne, the Principal, the twins, the step-bro, but my fave was the Cop, he was awesome.

Obviously off camera the handler pulled out a handful of doggy treats and showed him...

We had a bit of a discussion about the case rather than the TV show on the Conspiracy thread. https://www.forum.thesilverfern.com/topic/441/your-favourite-conspiracy-theories/1130?page=57

TBH, your comments are the type that create concern for me over our jury/justice system.
The parents aren't 'likeable' from some short clips taken while under stress so therefore they must have killed their child (or at least be heavily suspected).

I think it has been made clear from critics of the Netflix series that at the time the parents were advised to show no emotion due to a psychological assessment of potential abductors. Unfortunately this created a public persona of being uncaring, especially when added to 'how dare they leave their child unattended?' feelings partly driven by helicopter parent commenters.

I'm not saying that the parent avenue shouldn't be explored and exhausted, just that it is an emotional reaction that is adding more weight to that theory than any other.
Personally, I can see that the situation was absolutely perfect for a creep to have followed the families on holiday, watched their movements and taken full advantage of the targeted child being in a corner apartment with unsighted access and measurable time gaps to operate in.

Happy to keep debating this in the conspiracy thread and leave this one to TV though.

Anyone else giving Hanna a look-see? Based on the film with Eric Bana, Cate Blanchette and Sairoise Ronan. I quite liked the film but have struggled to get gripped by the series. 3 eps in so far. The action scenes are pretty good and production values a cut above the average, but I just can't seem to sympathise with any of the characters. I'm going to persevere as I quite like the premise but if it doesn't brighten up a bit I fear I may bale.

@Catogrande I am 4 eps in I think..of similar view as you though..is watchable, I like the premise, the genre is to my liking but still not quite there...ep 1 was pretty cool though, then made me wait 5 weeks for ep 2.

Also caught Whiskey Cavalier on TV last 2 weeks, is pretty average, but by god Lauren Cohen is hot so, yeah.

Great to see Killing Eve will be aired on TV2 on Monday (that I believe is pretty much same day as you can d/l if you are that way inclined)
