Genuinely made me laugh.
Daniel Plainview, Abraham Lincoln and William Cutting all have the same mannerisms, tone, inflection etc. The same criticism I make of other "huge" actors.

Daniel Plainview, Abraham Lincoln and William Cutting all have the same mannerisms, tone, inflection etc. The same criticism I make of other "huge" actors.
I'll take Bill and Dan but not Abe. That was a very different role imho. But you still have Hawkeye, Gerry Conlon, Boxer dude, gay dude, Phantom Thread Dude. Not many guys can convincingly play those roles and he nailed them all.

I agree on the bolded, and that's where he became a ham for me. I thought he was good as Lincoln though.

Those roles, pre the ham were great, I'd have been 100% in your camp then, I haven't seen The Phantom Thread.

Didn't really dig the chop socky shit at all and the second one had Michael Madsen and David Carradine who were both outstanding.
The chop socky was awesome and then 2 just had Carradine and Madsen dribbling on and on.

Went and watched the remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels last night.
The big blond girl was simply awful for the first 20 mins but by the end of the movie I thought she did quite a good job.
True-love liked it as she hadn't seen DRS.
3 outta 5 for me as I didn't hate it.
