In fairness to Parker. Anytime he attempted to dirty box or get into a position to do something meaningful the ref broke it up.

Im my opinion Parker is in a very good place now. That aside....

Andy Fucking Ruiz Jr. You bloody legend.

Back to the styles make fights theory ,

Joseph has never looked that comfortable fighting taller fighters , and having to chase them around

He looks at his best fighting shorter fighters that come forward onto his punches IMO ,

Andy Ruiz is just that ,

If he can hang onto the title , that is the fight they should be chasing hard ,

Andy has spoken out on numerous occasions how he thought he was robbed in their previous fight , maybe he would be interested to go again

Said he's not bothered. Got the WBO title doesn't need to prove anything against Parker.

And if as many have intimated he (Ruiz) has a short shelf-life then he'll go after the money - AJ, Fury, Wilder - not revenge - Parker.

And Wilder would be the one they would do first you would think from a business POV,

Both Ruiz and wilder are managed by Al Haymon , that way they ensure all the titles stay in their hands regardless of who wins , before they accept challenges from outside

Does anyone know if he can take a fight before the rematch?

      I guess it's about money.

Could he break the re-match contract with AJ for an exorbitant penalty?

Winner of Wilder and Ruiz holds all the belts and all the bargaining power and fight share brokering.

Short-term financial loss for long-term financial gain?

      Hope not.

Hope Ruiz shows he's a man of his word.

According to an old interview with Miller he was preparing to have to beat AJ twice as there was a 'bitch ass rematch clause' in the contract.
I assume that means that the penalties are big?
The point about Ruiz and Wilder being with the same promoter are still valid though.

Yeah i was talking about if ruiz beat him again , and you just never know ,

The rematch will happen, unless AJ pulls out , and everyone involved will make a lot of money ,including Ruiz ,

But win lose or draw , its changed the landscape ,

This part is a while off , but will be interesting to see where they have it , eddie will be pushing hard to have it at wembley, get AJ back into a familiar routine , Haymon will probably want it in the US to do the opposite .

Edit ; Eddie is already claiming it will be in the UK and November , he would have the promotional rights to call the shots all in the clause more than likely

Cardiff looking the likely venue because of the roof.

Was there for the AJ v Takam fight.

          It was electric.

@Paekakboyz Man - this fight looks like what it would've been like if Sonny Bill had been beaten up by the forklift driver or the sickness beneficiary! 🙂

Fuck boxing man. AJ's legs after that first punch in the ear, he's got legs like a new born giraffe. If you've made more money than you can spend, why in the fuck would you keep getting in the ring?

And how do you not have that moment in the back of your mind forever?

Ruiz is offering Joshua a rematch in Mexico City. Given that boxing has a massive tradition and support in Mexico, and given that Ruiz is the first-ever Mexican heavyweight champ, there’s going to be an enormous gate. PPV #’s will likely be excellent too.

@mariner4life boxing is littered with stories of guys who earn a truckload but lose it through bad advice/investments or generosity to hangers on ( same can be said of Jonah ) and they have to step back in the ring just to break even again.

He would have to do a huge amount of training, yet he still looks like he inhales donuts with each breath. His food intake must be absolutely enormous.

                                    Built for purpose.

Put on 5lbs from last fight to give more heft to his hits; not be bullied around the ring by the bigger fighter; and a layer of cushioning to absorb AJ's blows.

By contrast, AJ's mid section whilst aesthetically impressive couldn't cope with Ruiz's power.

Ruiz's physique is not dissimilar to MMA Legend Fedor Emelianenko.

For sure. But the calorific intake must be ludicrous. He must eat a cake between training rounds.

@mariner4life boxing is littered with stories of guys who earn a truckload but lose it through bad advice/investments or generosity to hangers on ( same can be said of Jonah ) and they have to step back in the ring just to break even again.

Mike Tyson had a lot of pigeons to feed after he retired too.

He's not the champion we all envisioned but Ruiz Jr deserves those belts. He works hard, has lightning hands and real ring ability. This is not Butterbean. This is a 33 and 1 boxer who took Joseph Parker to the cards and many thought Ruiz had won. Parker, love him or hate him was(and still is IMO) a top 5-6 heavyweight. You do not get to a record as the one Ruiz has without being a serious prospect.

It's easy to say so now but it was clearly a mistake to take Ruiz on is such a way. I do not believe AJ's team put in enough homework on Ruiz.

That said these British boxers are a bit chinny. Fury(to a lesser extent but still have long thin neck for a boxer and the glancing blow that got him going down from Wilder was nowhere near one of Wilder's best), Whyte and AJ are all a wee bit vulnerable when one sneaks through. This is heavyweight boxing, they can all knock each other out of course but I think it takes less to get these 3 fighters off their feet.
