So with 3 pools, how do we look to get to the semis? The boks to come

@Machpants We need to finish in the top four of all three pools combined. At the moment, there are four countries with 10 points from 2 wins: France, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

The problem is that we still have to play South Africa. If we lose that match, we can still go through on points differential (assuming that's the tie breaker) if we get a bonus point, even if Argentina (now at 6 points) gets a bonus point win. If Argentina have a bonus point win and we lose without a bonus point, we have to look at France. If we lose without a bonus point and Argentina win without a bonus point, we can still go through on points differential. Good thing is that Argentina and France still have to play each other.

If France loses, we have a slightly better points differential, but we can definitely not suffer a big loss to SA. If France loses with a bonus point, we need a bonus point as well, although all depends on Argentina's competition points on where France - and NZ - finish.

Ireland can still reach the same number of competition points, too, if they win with a bonus point and we lose without a bonus point, but their points differential isn't as good as ours.

So basically, we need at least a bonus point from our game against SA. That ensures a minimum of 11 bonus points and also a good points differential.

Our record against South Africa in this U20 tournament (started 2008) is poor - one win and five losses:

      2010: W 36-7 (sf)

      2012: L 16-22 (F)

      2013: L 34-41 (3rd/4th)

      2014: L 24-33 (pool)
      2014: L 25-32 (sf)

      2018: L 30-40 (3rd/4th)

@Number-10 Yeah, and they have some really big units in that team. I think our boys will struggle against SA. If SA have as many handling errors in their game as they had against Scotland, then we have a chance though. Haven't watched their game against Georgia yet.

Hard to make a global comment since the first 38 minutes are missing.
From what I saw during the second half, the passing was good and the forwards made the hard yards. Williams was a tower of strength with ball in hand. The biggest concern is the scrum. It must be a matter of technique surely as the NZ props are very big boys. Lineout OK.

I haven';t watched a lot of this, but I've seen enough to think Australia should hump England and you could flick a coin between South Africa and New Zealand.

                9 Leroy Carter
                10 Fergus Burke
                11 Leicester Faingaanuku
                12 Dallas McLeod
                13 Billy Proctor
                14 Etene Nanai-Seturo
                15 Cole Forbes

                Reserves
                16 Shilo Klein
                17 George Dyer
                18 Tamaiti Williams
                19 Kaliopasi Uluilakepa
                20 Taine Plumtree
                21 Kaylum Boshier
                22 Jeriah Mua
                23 Simon Parker
                24 Taufa Funaki
                25 Rivez Reihana
                26 Lalomilo Lalomilo
                27 Quinn Tupaea
                28 Scott Gregory

Coach Craig Philpott has rung in the changes for the must-win pool match against South Africa.

Captain Kianu Kereru Symes returns to start at hooker and will be joined by Ollie Norris and Fletcher Newell in the front row.

Samipeni Finau, Kohan Herbert and Devan Flanders combine as a dynamic loose forward trio for the second time after impressing against Georgia.

In the backline Fergus Burke, Etene Nanai-Seturo and Billy Proctor retain their starting positions from the 52โ€”33 win over Scotland.

The extended bench has plenty of fire power and Philpott said it will play a crucial role in the match.

โ€œThere has been a lot of learning around how to manage the extended bench, we are able to react to how the game is developing to make sure the players we bring on are in a position to make a real impact.โ€

The New Zealand Under 20 side currently sit second, on points difference, behind South Africa in their pool. A win tomorrow would confirm their place in the semi-finals otherwise they would have to wait on other results to potentially qualify as the best finishing second place team.

                    @cgrant
Having watched both NZ games I agree, however they are only 1 point ahead on PD after playing the same teams, and I think the NZ team got sloppy against Scotland after going 26-0 after 27 minutes.

Is Grace really 1.9m? If so, he is Blackwell 2.0, ranga and all.

Just checked "visitor posts" on the Spark Sport Facebook page and it seems more people are trying - or having been trying - to watch U20s and hockey games on a computer, but the games weren't offered on the website. Apparently, you can watch them on other devices. As I can't watch it on my phone, I guess I'll have to wait until they make the video of the game available on the website afterwards.

This shit better not happen during the RWC!

Okay, if you're watching - on whatever device - do not refresh your screen. Apparently, it will disappear if you do that.

                            Wales v Fiji was a roller-coaster.

Some cracking tries from both sides.

Down 19-3 at HT. Only seen the last 15 minutes or so but NZ look poor.

Think we need a BP at minimum to make the semi.
