    Aumua is the bolter, although not obviously a new AB. The other newbies benefitted from injuries/unavailabilities to incumbents (e.g., DMac, Squire) or had some form so were in the conversation. I doubt many expected Harris to miss out if 4 hookers were selected.

    This squad only gets interesting once the team to play Argentina is announced, and then when the squad is cut to 34 players for the Bledisloe Cup games. Then we'll get a better idea of the selectors thoughts.

    Back on topic. Lots of work ons still for them. But Shannon Frizzell,Dalton Papali'i, George Bridge and Will Jordan have all started the season well. Possible bolters if they keep improving.

    Will Jordan got injured but the other three made the Rugby Championship AB squad. 😋

    I hope you didn’t type that with a big pat myself on the back smile on your face....

    See under form players.

    He is the top try scorer. That got Laumape more attention a few seasons ago.

    Yep. Didn't work for BLAM though, or others. Just being a top try scorer puts you in the conversation, but doesn't necessarily make you a great player

    missing a key part of the descriptor. Top try scorer (who also plays for the Crusaders)

    Lam only played well during the first part of the 2018 season, but faded pretty quickly in the second.

    Amazing transformation in Sevu Reece this season. Credit to Razor, ROG and the Sader staff.

    How is Reece under the high ball and defensively?
    Fair play to him this season - but he in a dominant team.
    I think Ennor is a better bet for wing (also covering center)

    No! Ennor at centre in a test scares me. Give him a bit more time possibly, but right now? Nope.

    His defence is poor

    Here's the SR wingers sorted by missed tackles

    He was bad in the NPC too. He missed 7 tackles in one game v Auckland

    @Duluth You shouldn't just look at the missed tackle stat though. Missing 3 from 4 attempts is much worse than missing 10 from 75 (just a random example).

    @Stargazer he’s shit at defending regardless of how the table is sorted.

    @Stargazer

    Only 49% tackle efficiency... so misses lots and makes lots of ineffective ones when he does get em.

    @Duluth Are you talking about Reece or Ennor? I'd agree about Reece.

    @Stargazer

    I’m talking about Reece.

    Ennor has a pretty small sample size, but is at 70% apparently.

    R Ioane jumps out as really effective, as do all the Blues outsides, actually.

    Ennor is a good one on one tackler from what i've seen, he's also fast and a very good natural reader of the game. the combination with goodhue was a bit untidy in the 2nd half last week, but longer term i don't think there are any issues there.
    reece hits hard, but misses a lot. hasn't been tested fully under high ball or positionally that i've seen, but i haven't seen any really bad errors in what i have seen. i was expecting the canes to kick high to him and have jordie after it, but instead they kicked to bridge and he dominated.
