TRC: Pumas v All Blacks

George Bridge is right-handed, so I assume that means he's also right-footed. Yet, he plays on the left wing. You'd think he should be able to play on the right wing, too.
Edit: Rieko Ioane is right-handed, too.

@Stargazer On the other hand, I write with my left hand, but am right sided for everything rugby related - except signing autographs after the game.

@Stargazer Dan Carter was right-handed but kicked with his left foot.
You only have to look at cricketers to know there isn't always a correlation between the two.

Reece is bloody lucky.
- no utility value
- not particularly good defense
- good fortune of being on the end of a dominant team's backline at Super level
- outside the AB center at Super rugby level

With DMac injured I expect BFA to remain at fullback now. Jordie seems to be pencilled in as the ultimate outside back utility who could play at 12 too if required. That might mean they are reconsidering the makeup of their midfield/outside back balance.
Ennor is the midfield cover so that makes sense.

Ioane has spent some AB time on the right also. I’m sure he’s played both sides for the Blues as well.

The All Blacks are going to need one fookin fast winger. If Reiko Ioane is injured, then Reece is the obvious next Man of Speed.
Not sure Reece makes the 31 but will need him ready to be drafted an injury.
My guess is that only one of Jordie or Ennor will make the RWC squad. Both are outside the 23 for the knockouts but could be excellent utility to fill in across the backline in the group games.

@Jaguares4real Makes a difference, though - if you're a right sided player you'll prefer to carry the ball in your right hand, kick with your right foot and step off your right foot - all of which make it advantageous to play on the right wing.

I preferred playing right wing , stepped better off my right, kicked off my right, passed better back inside
But if playing midfield, preferred attacking the left side of the field where my right handed passes were better,
I think even at the highest level, players have similar strengths and weaknesses

Yeah but then you get weirdos like me who feel more comfortable on the right, but play better on the left.

Playing Jordie at 11 instead of his rightful position of 12 is also a very shrewd ploy to keep the powder dry.

Good test for Atu Moli against Juan Figallo. If he holds his own in the set scrums and shows what he can do in the loose, he'll be on the plane to Japan.
The Jags scrum has been ordinary in the games I watched (I didn't see the final so can't comment on that). In the two games the Chiefs played against them the Chiefs had an obvious advantage. We will find out whether the addition of Figallo makes a huge difference to the Pumas' scrum.

Figallo is a big step up, but Argies best LHs are in Europe.

Speaking from experience when I played on the wing it was always on the left. Not only am I left-footed but it is easier to step off your dominant foot.
There aren't many top players who are comfortable playing on both wings and you still see players kick with the in-step of their dominant foot because they can't kick with the other foot.

Many of best 11s were left footed. Two lefties which come to mnd are Jonah and Piutau.
