I agree - I think 200 will be too far. But, as you say, here's hoping.
So, I just copied your post. Good for me. I will say if the pitch flattens out, and the openers can see off the hard ball, that 200 is very very gettable. So maybe I am optimistic... will take some disciplined batting for an hour, and then it'll be game on for Ireland.

Yep that's Hadlee standard and remember Steyn played when anything under 30 is pretty outstanding.

Agreed.
But his body just can't deal with the volume required in tests anymore.
Even an ODI feels a stretch. Suspect he will gravitate to T20's.Interesting fact given that injuries are now haunting him - he was one of the least injured bowlers early on in his career. It has really only been the last 3-4 years that father time has come to claim its dues.

Out of interest, I thought I'd do a comparison of Hadlee (left) and Steyn (right).
Shows just how much work Hadlee got through in his career - 7 matches less (86 vs 93), but bowled around 2,400 more deliveries than Steyn.
Bowling has a lot of similarities, but Hadlee was 3x the batsmen (literally).
Was a pleasure to watch Steyn, one of the few fast bowlers I went out of my way to watch. Quality for ages, and a dead set legend.
