<p>Yeah, I've gone in a complete circle now. If we are going to change it has to be black with a properly designed silver fern or else just keep the current flag.</p>

<p>The colors are kind of agreed on. Black and white essential and preferable only traditional blue and red as optional colors.</p>

<p>I'm a NZer living in the UK who is disappointed by not only the poor quality of the final 4 but the lack of any real choice. With 3 disappointing fern options and one non fern that is not really a genuine replacement flag alternative. But the main reason for signing this petition is that the Red Peak flag would be an outstanding option that ticks all the boxes for a new NZ flag. And it will offer a real alternative in the referendum vote. The black and white fern would still be used for sporting events.</p> -

Just to be clear, there is no reason we can't have a white fern on a black background. It just can't copy exactly the NZRU one. <br>
Even the designer of the NZRU one has offered to do a version. <br>
All it needs is a different curve and different shaped leaves -

Hahaha, well spotted. Fuck it, let's just get the guy that did the ABs to do us a good silver fern on black. Everything else is taken anyway. -
