    @Paekakboyz

We have it in Sri Lanka

I think it's part of the changes related to the Test championship

@Duluth amazing. I watched hours of the test. I guess that puts me in the not bothered category.

Australia wearing red numbers bothered me, for a bit. Looked like they should be England.

@Rapido One off for Andrew Strauss' cancer fund in honour of his missus.

Boundary ropes were also red as were the commentators' jackets.

Looked like an away day for Butlins staff

England's feeble top order actually overperforming a bit again yesterday, but still England were smashed.

Imagine when their top order reverts to their mean. Against this persistent bowling g attack.

England will be a shell of a team by the end if this series.

Bancroft would have been at home in some of our less celebrated opening partnerships. 10 tests, a high score of 82 and and average of 28.20 so far.

Oh please as far as mediocre test openers go he is world class.

If Bancroft is a Kiwi we would be saying Blair who?

Aussie 80/4 at end of day 2 with Smith still in. If rain doesn't interfere too much, should be a good remainder of test, but a rain-affected draw seems likely.

Australia might need to pray for rain for the rest of the series. Only one of them can bat it seems.

Lords is getting a bit of spice. Archer bowling short at the body and Smith has copped one to the grill after an earlier blow to the arm.

Can't get em out, knock em out.

That was a nasty hit. Head turned, neck exposed and real pace from Archer.

What a day though, plenty of wickets, 250+ runs and some life in the wicket and bowling.

                              What an amazing day.

Only watched the hour highlights , what a great hour of telly.

Can tell it was a package produced by SkyUk, as SkyNZ have a poor touch with cricket highlights, don't create a narrative of the things between the wickets and boundaries.

Aren't those rear protective pads compulsory to avoid exactly that sort of hit? I mean, after all the bats out for Phil Hughes malarky, wear the damn protection

Came back and made another 12 runs.

England top order having a poor run so far, Burns'one ton aside.

Though of course that's true of our blokes, too.

                                  Siddle bowling angry, at last

Nope. He does not wear them or a lengthened helmet for comfort reasons. I think he should reconsider that now. The best bet is all helmet makes should be made to change their designs to incorporate them. It doesn't even need to be solid, no reason why the extension couldn't be a metal grille or have lots of holes milled out of it

If you went out to design a fast bowler you'd come up with someone like Archer. Natural pace so he doesn't seem to be exerting himself too much, tall to get bounce, straightforward action so hopefully not too jarring on the body long term, bowls close to the stumps. The fact that he seems to be able to control line and length over long periods is a bonus.

Now he needs a sympathetic captain who isn't going to bowl him into the ground. Early signs aren't good on that although the rain delay was a factor in him bowling 29 out of 94 overs.

Shades of Bodyline about Archer's bowling. Glad Steve Smith was able to get back on the field.

Forecast is for dry weather all day today in North London so they could get a full day's play in and be there still after 7 pm.
