It looks like Junior Laloifi didn't make the cut. One of the few standouts for the Turbos last year. If he's not injured, another province who needs a winger/fullback should pick him up.

@Stargazer it’s amazing how many good players go unnoticed in the Heartland comp..James Last who plays for Buller and the NZ Heartland XV is bloody good player that runs the cutter really well.
Surprised he’s never been picked up by a Mitre 10 Cup team..if Marty Banks could make it out of Buller, I am sure Mike Lash could be just as successful..

Just not sure of his age.@Steven-Harris About a year ago, I saw a twitter conversation between James Lash's uncle (Mike Lash, the referee) and someone else about this and I had the impression that James was happy with just playing Heartland for Buller and wasn't looking for a M10 Cup contract. He plays/played sevens for Ta$man as well.

@Steven-Harris Yeah, if found guilty and resulting in a conviction, this could cost him a possibly good career in rugby. Shame.

@Yeetyaah Gee I’m not so sure, the nature of the offence could be a telling factor..it’s not gonna be a good look if for instance he gets some sort of suspended or supervised sentence.

Either way, I hope in this case, as he isn't too established as a rugby player, NZR promptly terminate his contract if he's found guilty. I thought I was okay with Reece as everyone deserves a chance to better themselves but I've since decided his rapid rise doesn't sit well with me. Won't go further into that as this isn't the thread for it.

@Yeetyaah I don't think he's contracted to NZR; only to Southland.
Edit: maybe he still has a development contract with the Highlanders.
@Stargazer He has a Highlanders dev contract with him joining the full squad next year.
