TBF St Elmos Fire wasn't a teen movie, it just had all the actors playing their actual age for once.

80's was also the golden era for kids tv. Fraggle Rock, Muppet Show, 321 Contact, The Electric Company, Jem, Basil Brush, Rainbow, Scooby Doo, Sooty & Sweep...

Dora, Diego, Wonder Pets, Max & Ruby, the fucking blue dog and undersea bugs can all take a running jump off a cliff into a pit of mutant, bloodsucking hamsters.

That show is bizarre, but most shows on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon are weird. Ever seen Adventure Time, Clarence or Steven of the Universe? Plenty of drugs involved in those brainstorming sessions. Its like they dont care about the kids anymore and are focussing on their parents.

However,Regular Show is awesome, even if it's full of 80s references that go straight over kids' heads. Luke Skywalker (aka Mark Hamill) is the voice of an immortal yeti.

I've never watched it to understand the name, but whenever TR Jnr is watching I always point out what it means for him to be Uncle Granpa!

Yeah regular show is probably about the only one I can watch if it is on, that the kids watch (glad TR Jnr has grown out of Ben 10)

My son has found the Science of Stupid on Discovery channel, that is pretty funny.

I think it's fair to say Harrison Ford may have had a slightly more successful career.

Thankfully the only show my boy watches on those channels is Paw Patrol, which isn't too weird. Refuses to watch Max & Ruby or any of the other weird shit - like TR he loves watching documentaries, have been watching 'Life' lately which has been interesting.

On a nerdily related topic: had a go in one of these today at the local arcade while waiting for a kids bday party to die its inevitable death. Played the X-Wing Death Star mission and the Hoth Snowspeeder mission. The others which I didn't play were Speeder Bike on Endor, Millennium Falcon destroying the 2nd Death Star, and something called Darth Vader's revenge.

Great fun. Spherical screen with a project. Also has a camera though fuck knows what for.

Regular Show is fucking awesome, the kids don't even understand why. Love the 80s montages every episode.

I like Adventure Time, but if you really look at it, it's depressing as fuck. It's essentially a show about abandonment and loneliness. Steven Universe is alright, Clarence is reasonably funny, as is the Amazing World of Gumball. The ones i can't stand are Johnny Test and fucking Uncle Grandpa.

The first series of Adventure Time was excellent. After that it went all dark and twisted. Gumball is pretty funny. There's another one called Breadwinners which is plain weird.

Regular Show is brilliant because its slapstick and comical enough for kids to enjoy it, but absolutely packed full of 80s pop culture references to delight us parents.

But how does a show like that even get off the ground? So yeah Mr Exec, its about a blue jay and his best friend a raccoon, and they work at a park run by a gumball machine and a (wtf is pops?) Oh yeah, theres an immortal yeti called Skips, a fat monster called Muscleman and a hand shaped ghost called High5 Ghost. Talk about taking a farking punt.
