I think we have a slight edge but wouldn't be surprised if Ireland wins.

I'll be surprised, irate and disgusted to lose to such a poor, shitty team.

Just because they don't play our style of rugby, it doesn't mean they are shitty. Their structure, defence and discipline makes them dangerous. Throw in some wet weather and Sexton and Murray can become very effective with their kicking game.

SA are going to win comfortably against Japan, too much power up front. Moreover, Japan have lost Koo, their starting tight head. I don't know who is their third one but he'll have to pack down against Kisthoff or Mtawarira.
    Is Mafi still out ?

    Fantastic match from both sides
    Tremendous advert for rugby
    Japan deserved winners

No arguments as to who deserves to go to the QF

One of the games of the tourney so far

"It's a bit like the previous Brexit and Scottish Independence votes. The result was so close, and now we know what the result actually means, we need to put it back to the players to decide"

What? Where on earth did I say that? They're shitty because they're playing shit. But sure, make up your own brief.

Oh well, really hope you are right. I think there are signs that they are coming back into form.

Now crossing live to Japanese correspondent @gt12 for the crowd reaction. You still alive in there mate?

Ha ha, as usual no 4g service onsite. Just got home, and, well, what a fucking cracking game of footy. I'm hammered, brilliant atmosphere, both JP and Scot supporters doing it right.

I may add some thoughts tomorrow, but right now all I know is that Tony Brown has a future with withe ABs. That Japan team knows how to break down defenses, and they use a variety of means to do it.

They are just fun to watch, and with better players across the park, they'd be very very strong. I don't know that South Africa will be laughing about this result - if the japan team can win it's set piece (looking at the line out in particular tonight) then they could be dangerous next week.

@ACT-Crusader Whatever it is, it's well deserved.
I'm putting my hand up as a Kiwi like for like ( I may need to bulk up a bit) replacement for JJ if Japan need-I reckon I can keep Japan humming. PM me here, Japan.

    Wow. Brilliant match.

    Go Japan.

Actually, good comeback from the Scots. Their 7 was brilliant. Was he even in the original squad?

Good to have a new quarterfinalist. Good to have the hosts progressing.

That 7 was dirty as and should have been carded twice.

A country and a language that very few people understand or respect. They even receive criticism for what they eat and their strange dress code!!!
A country and its population that has been battered by the extreme weather conditions.
A nation not known for its rugby .....
and now they have lost to Japan

    Well done Japan, deserved winners.

Fuck off home Scotland and compete with Italy for the bottom spot in the 6n and expect to be cannon fodder in the next rwc because thats all you bring to the comp.

@jegga will Scotland now take legal action over the disruption to their preparation due to the typhoon threat of cancellation?

What an excellent game. So if Japan score one more try what’s the scenario?

Japan finish top of the pool and play SA
    We play Ireland

Don’t want to go off topic, but bring on Ireland.

I think we are going to smash them.

I can't help but feel that the new game the coaches have been developing has been to beat the worst of the NH style, aka Ireland.

I think you are right , and now we get to see if it’s effective

You know they won’t let this go , they’ll carry on like we do about Barnes but without a shred of justification.

Can WR fine them for bringing the game into disrepute?

I initially wanted to play japan not Ireland ,

Now I’m ok with it ,

Japan is so likeable , I don’t want to be the pricks that beat them 🙂
