Pretty good run out there, thought the start was the key, had their foot on the throat and never removed.

That PT yellow was absurd, claiming Todd was off side (doesn't have to go further behind the line)

Thought Owens fine otherwise, the double penalty at half time was odd...Read has tackled the guy that was bound to the ball carrier...then that shoulder, FFS talk about looking for something...dumb by the Irish guy in the current climate but gee there was nothing in it.

That was comfortably the worst reffing performance I've seen from Owens, culminating in the YC and penalty try which could have cost us the game in a tight one. I'm astounded anyone thinks he was fine, he had completely lost the plot at that point.

That said, I still firmly believe he's the best ref in the world so hope he takes stock and learns from his errors as I'd prefer he refs the semi/final than any of the others.

Refs have off days too, it's fine to admit that.

I'm really glad Schmidt is coming home, he has been in the NH far too long and it's just excuse after excuse.

First sentence out of his mouth is "I don't really have an excuse" then within five minutes has offered up:

          • Short week
          • Injuries in the camp.
          • Reversed penalty before half time was wrong decision.

Fair play he is dissapointed, but it was the same thing after the Japan game.

You get the sense he knew Ireland didn't have the momentum going into the tournament or at least part way though it.

Momentum is a funny thing ,

His team peaked some time ago , and he was powerless to bring it back ,

Allblacks are a different kettle of fish , When things aren’t working we have more depth to make changes , tweak the game plan etc they dont have that luxury In depth and skill levels and you can sense the frustration

This was the most appalling match Nigel Owens has refereed....at least three yellows missed by head high and neck rolls by the Irish and the penalty try was absurd...Todd was hemmed in there against the post by an Irish player and couldn't get away even if he tried...lucky that wasn't a decision that could've effected the out come of the match. I remember when Dan Carter got yellowed for a horrendous tackle against Wales and the Fern foamed endlessly at the mouth about the IRB (as was) conspiring with the illuminati, aliens, English rugby clubs and the man on the grassy knoll to besmirch his sainted name.

You over egged it with the Horrendous tackle bit. 6/10 , I gave you an extra point for coming back for the semis you don't read too much into those numbers.

Hit it too hard on Friday night, played some golf and went for a feed.

Had a little lie down before the game..... just woke up now.

                      Nice to see we won

Watching back the condensed version on Kayo.

Irish defence disintegrating in the face of an attack that isn't 6N rubbish.

Sexton and Kearney past their best.

And that penalty 40m our when 10-0 down. Why go for the corner? Gift three points for Sexton, surely?

The ruck shoulder charge penalty turnover from Irish 6 was gold tho. The two most cynical teams in world Rugby going at it.

                        Irish 11 having a shocker

Quick question - how many tries did Ireland's starting wingers score over the tournament?

                                  at a guess below 1?

Surely in order to "stay" you need to have started there in the first place? I don't think that he ever was there.

I hope his tweets stop getting posted here, he's just as vile about his own countrymen and seems mentally unwell.

I have a feeling we have only just cracked that keg of powder.

Eddie may study videos all week, but next weekend will be a different game again (with even more intensity and commitment)

I don't know how some of you guys manage to comment during the game, you must be better typists than me (not saying much), I'd miss half the action if I tried.

It's also pretty fun to wake up with a smile on my face, make a BLT and sit down with a coffee to scroll through the 1000+ posts here over brekkie.

                                          Happy days!
