actually, you could piss off back to teh Hurricanes now. We haven't won shit since you bandwagoned your way across.

It's either your fault, or Taranaki's

You started winning shit the moment I parachuted across MF!

Then the Naki joined and it's been near and not so near misses ever since. Should have had the sweet heart deal with the Magpies!

wait, i thought you jumped across in 2014?

Hell no ... the Hammettuer's first season was 2011, by about three weekends in I was dusting off my old Hilly Chiefs matches T Shirts and my muddy old Chiefs flag (from the days of the hill at Rugby Park) afdter retrieving them from my storage locker.

Rennie and I joined at the same time ... you're welcome 😉 .

What are you going to do if Hammer is part of Jamie Joseph's dream team - and appointed to the ABs? They've been on the same Highlanders, Sunwolves, Japan roundabout with Tony Brown so I wouldn't discount it. 🙂

Melbourne Rebels unveil full 2020 playing squad

In what marks Melbourne’s tenth season in the competition, the Rebels have added a mix of depth, experience and local talent among the fourteen new faces who join the twenty-six players retained from their 2019 campaign.

In the last six months, the Rebels have re-signed seven players, including returning Wallaby debutant Isi Naisarani and John Eales Medal winner, Marika Koroibete.

The Club can also confirm the return of outside back Tom English for the 2020 season, who will be in a race with Foundation Rebel Luke Jones to see who can be first to 100 Rebels caps.

With the departure of experiences halves Will Genia and Quade Cooper to Kintetsu in Japan, the Melburnians are set to enter the season with a new look halves pairing under the guidance of Attack Coach, Shaun Berne.

“At scrumhalf, we have three new guys who will be scrapping it out in James Tuttle, Frank Lomani and Ryan Louwrens,” said Berne.

Up front, experienced campaigners Ruan Smith and Cameron Orr are the Rebels new book-ends, and former Sharks lock Gideon Koegelenberg bolsters the retention of Matt Philip, Ross Haylett-Petty and emerging local talent Trevor Hosea.

“We took a really conservative approach with getting Jordan Uelese back on-field in 2019. His time in the Test arena will see him come back a more mature player and the contest he has with Anaru Rangi will take both their game’s to a new level.

Interesting to see my nephew's name amongst that lot. Going from Sydney University 2nd XV starting hooker (and sometimes flanker) to inclusion in a Super Rugby Squad is a bit surprising from what I have seen of him during the Australian National Rugby Championship games I watched. Still it could be worse I guess, imagine the disclaiming I will have to do if he moves into the Wallabies!!!!!! Just a shame he is not my sister's son as that would at least see him with a different family name to me so it might not be so noticeable!
In honesty it must be good for the kid who, by a quirk of fate, carries citizenship of the Republic of Ireland (amongst others) so can play up there in Europe as a local if he turns out to be good enough.

                    @Tim Mitch Jacobson, too.

These signings also mean that these players won't be available as injury cover in case NZ franchises lose players to the injury ward.

@Stargazer some very handy players amongst that lot..if your a NZ Super Rugby franchise especially if you have injuries and with so many quality players opting for other pastures during the super season ..you do wonder about the next tare of players on standby..

And if there aren't many Japanese test players in the Sunwolves squad there is no justification to keep them in Super Rugby. SANZAAR's decision was correct.

@Bovidae Yeah, this is from the article below:

There were no Top League players listed in the preliminary squad, further the speculation about leading Japanese players not being released to play in Super Rugby.

@Tim Highlanders a fair bit higher than I expected! But maybe worth a punt...

@Daffy-Jaffy How old is that? Surely Scott Robertson should be in those stats (with a high/the highest win%)?

@Stargazer It was posted 3 hours ago. I just now researched its origin and it is from a 2017 artilcle on Fox sports about Nick Styles being the worst super coach ever. So its really only now relevant to past coaches.
