@Stargazer "Scotland will open the campaign against the Pumas on the weekend of 6 November followed by the previously announced fixture against the Brave Blossoms over weekend of 13 November, before finishing the series against the world’s number-two ranked side, New Zealand, over weekend of 20 November."

So they love to mention that, they don't mention Jap or Arg ranking.

@Machpants not something I'd get offended about - to me they're simply showing that they'll be measuring themselves up against a much better side.

With the B&I Lions going to Jaapieland in 2021, in all likelihood, we will get France here next year.

Then Ireland or England in 2022 - then potentially no-one in 2023.

Currently, I think Ireland were last here in 2012; England 2014.

Will be a long time between drinks for one of those teams.

Will be a long time between drinks for one of those teams.

The rumours (published first by L'Equipe) are that France will tour Japan for two matches and may add one game - against NZ or Australia - to its tour schedule in 2021.

The other home nations will be understrength due to the Lions tour. The question is, therefore, which other nations NZ and Australia could play.

This article from Rugbypass suggests that the Pacific Nations will benefit, which could be true. Italy is also named as a possible opponent of the All Blacks. The question is, which other teams are strong enough to make sure the July tests will be interesting enough?A July Series against - say - Fiji, Italy and Samoa/Tonga, is that really good enough? But who else?

The above idea of playing all or some of the PI nations doesn't take into account that they may already play the Pacific Nations Cup, which may or may not affect their availability for tests against NZ and Australia.

Qantas Wallabies v New Zealand, Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
Buildcorp Wallaroos v New Zealand, Marvel Stadium, Melbourne

Melbourne will host a Bledisloe Cup match for the first time in a decade next year with the Wallabies and Wallaroos to play a trans- Ta$man at Marvel Stadium in 2020.

Rugby Australia announced the August 8 fixture on Monday, which also sees the first Wallaroos Test match played in Melbourne.

The Bledisloe Cup clash in Melbourne is part of a deal between Rugby Australia and Visit Victoria that will see a Test match played in Melbourne every year through to 2025, when one of the three clashes against the British and Irish Lions will also be held in the southern state.

Marvel Stadium aka Docklands is an oval though not too ridiculously big. The image on google maps shows a soccer pitch layout.

That might be worth a look...

AB fans should turn up wearing Japanese rugby jerseys to remind the Scots of the RWC embarrassment.

Note that the article below refers to an "All Blacks XV", not the All Blacks. A match in October 2020 falls outside the official November test window and Bledisloe 3 is scheduled for Sat 17 October 2020.

                            .

Fiji confirmed to play All Blacks XV in Canada 2020

The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed the Flying Fijians will play the All Blacks XV in Canada next year.

The Test match was approved by the New Zealand Rugby (NZR) earlier this week and is scheduled for October 2020 before their Europe tour in November.

FRU chief executive officer, John O'Connor, said he hoped the extra Test matches would boost the performance of the team as they focussed on the next Rugby World Cup in 2023.

Fiji will travel to Australia in August next year to play the Wallabies after the Pacific Nations Cup, followed by their match against the All Blacks XV in Canada before the team travels to Europe in November to play against the Wales team and the formidable France Barbarians.

FRU are expecting to have a team shortlisted next week before they announce the successful applicant for the Flying Fijians job as the head coach.

Current coach John McKee's contract is expected to expire by month-end.

I think it's a pretty good programme for a 'first year'.

The banana skin game is vs SA in SA after doing the round the world trip. The November games start tough at Twickers as well.

@mariner4life On the plus side, six games against the other RWC semi-finalists - though it would be great if it was two against each.

How box-office would England vs ABs home and away be?!!!

ABs vs Australia will have a bit of spice with Foster and Rennie going up against each other.

With probably NZ's weakest Super team beating probably Australia's strongest - on their home turf - there's no pressure Fozzie! (I was going to post that remark in the kneejerk thread!).

There should be bans for the misuse of "banana skin"
