Played footy with a Hotham when I was there and he had some talented kids and rellies IIRC.

Having thought about it she may be a grand daughter ... I'm not as young as I like to think I am.

Saw her in that Ignite Sevens thing last year - looked a real natural, a silky runner with the ball in both hands.

Another article about Jazmin Hotham. HGHS is proving to be a factory for sevens talent. Montessa Tairakena is a star in the making too.

Is this Winiata reffing Eng v Rus? She's been pretty crap and heavily favoured England.

@Bones The same could be said about the World Doping Authority favouring (or not applying the available sanctions in full) Russia.

BF7s starting without Blyde, Nathan-Wong and Fluhler. After 1:37 minutes, still scoreless against invitational team Japan. Bring on the subs after the break, please.

The BF7s look like they're playing in energy-saving mode. Not a bad idea, considering the high temperature and the even higher temperatures expected later today (over 40 degrees). But they still need to win this.

@Stargazer SOme of them were very poor last week, especially that sheila that refereed the China v Fijiana game. World Rugby don't appear to be selecting match officials on merit!

@Higgins I think they focus a lot on referee development. A lot of these refs are new and inexperienced.

Finally, a try! The subs making an impact. Fluhler gets the BF7s on the board. Nathan-Wong converts.

@Stargazer Well then in that particular official's case it is money thrown away given the way Fiji were utterly stiffed in that game. Being "new and inexperienced" does not excuse incompetence no matter how much "referee development" might have been chucked at her.

How many captains have the BFs got? So far Lose has called about 4 different people the captain.
