Funnily I met up with a client last year, and when I met him I thought he seemed familiar, but name didnt ring a bell, he recognised my name, and then said his name at school and how his name was now a combination of him and his wife's name.
Assume it is no different if they split up they both change names back?

Merged names should be more of a thing a Smith marries a 'Brown' they could become 'Smown' or 'Brith' way more interesting and sustainable.

My mate changed his last name at marriage to his mothers maiden name as he was the end of that family name.
His wife to be was thrilled too as if he kept his original last name she would have been Mrs Crabb
