    Kupu Vanisi for Highlanders 7?

Yep. We let him go a season too soon at least, Ben Herring did his best but Vanisi was at another level.

I think he started there but moved to get away from Kronfeld.

@Nepia Not bad, but this backline is better...

    15 MacDonald
    14 Gear
    13 Laulala
    12 SBW
    11 Berryman
    10 Moúnga
    9 Fotuali'i

Could let Israel have a wing as a token HB selection, but.......nah!!!! 🙂

We're short on proper 7s - Johnny Leo'o, Jon Poff or Pete Samu?

Edit: I haven't included any Fijians.

@KiwiMurph Yeah - that's a possibility as well, though if you were picking on Crusaders form I'm sure he played his best rugby for the Chiefs.

my Chiefs loosies are Messam, Lats, and Lauaki

    My backline?

TKB, Cruden, Reihana, Little, Bunce, Randle, Mils

The dreamy Richard Kahui the unlucky one. Sivivatu also because someone made the "no fijians" rule.

You'd have to axe little if you were following the no Fijians rule ... but your boy @Stargazer re-added them so you're all good.

Kronfeld is eligible for the Highlanders anyway so may as well go with him.

    @Bovidae Downvote.

The Canes are celebrating their Māori & Pacific players and fans with Mana Moana week at Sky Stadium on Saturday.

It got me thinking, who would make an all-time Mana Moana Canes XV - feel free to add a Blues one in here aswell.

Considering the likes of Cullen and Coles count, here is my stab at an all time XV: * I feel like I've missed someone obvious in the locking department.

    1. Schwalger 2. Coles 3. Tialata (but would probably have Lomax over him already) 4. Tito 5. Fatialofa 6. Collins 7. Savea 8. So'oialo 9. Perenara 10. Weepu 11. Lomu 12. Nonu 13. Umaga 14. Milner Skudder 15. Cullen

Has Weepu ever played 10 for the Canes ? If not, R. Flutey then.

Surely you'd take Cruden before Flutey?

This is probably a really stupid question, but why are Fijians not classed as Polynesian?

    I'm thinking because they're Melanesian?

Not something usually considered really though eh.

    Chiefs for me would be:

    Taumalolo
    Hika Elliot
    Laulala
    Gibbs
    Lock
Holah (I think he played for NZ Maori)
    Messam
    Lauaki (RIP big man!)
    Tawera Kerr-Barlow
    Cruden
    Second Five
    ALB
    McKenzie
    Lomu (RIP Big fella)
    Mils

    I have a mind blank for another lock and a 2nd 5

Hohneck played for the Maori. no? Surely, SBW at 12!

Yes, but I'd select Deacon Manu over Hohneck.

That could have something to do with it.

No room for title-winning fullback Robbie Robinson?
